While traveling on the first day, we received a text message saying that the home was ready for early check in - yay! However, when we arrived at the home, that was definitely not the case. We were greeted with trash all over the driveway…covered in flies. I’m sure an animal had made their way into the trash, which is understandable, but if someone had recently been there to clean, wouldn’t they have seen this? As we made our way into the home, this question was answered and things only got worse. It was obvious the home had not been cleaned. Actually, it looked like someone may have started cleaning, but definitely didn’t complete the job. And these weren’t just small things… the house needed to be completely re-cleaned. On a positive note, a cleaning crew did come over very quickly, but it definitely wasn’t a good first impression.
The layout of the home is great, but we could only use 2 out of the 4 bathrooms. Neither of the showers on the 2nd floor were operational. The shower knob was broken in one of them, so you couldn’t even turn on the water. And the drain was so clogged in the other shower that you couldn’t use it either. All guests in our party had to use either the downstairs shower, or the very small shower on the 3rd floor. I reported this problem on the second day we were there but no one came to fix either of them during our stay.
Most of the issues we experienced were minor and could have been fixed fairly easily. It just didn’t appear than anyone had checked this home before our arrival.
