A real gem and dog friendly. We were made welcome from the moment we arrived. Lovely room with an enormous bed, well fitted ensuite shower room. Excellent evening meal with a good choice if drinks available. Breakfast was great and our spaniel loved the sausage that they gave to her. In short thoroughly recommended and we will definitely go back.

Great weekend away
A warm welcome from the moment we walked through the door. Every member of staff was friendly and couldn’t do enough to help. The bar area is comfortable and cosy and the food great. Will definitely return.

Excellent stay. Staff were lovely from the moment I arrived and couldn’t do enough. Room was large and clean and conservatory to watch tv was nice. Evening meal and breakfast were very good. Definitely stay again.

Mid week wedding anniversary treat.
We stayed for 2 nights midweek to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The hotel was lovely, clean and friendly with welcoming staff. The breakfast is very good and the 2 evening meals we had were excellent. The bar is well stocked with a good selection of drinks. The bedroom was very clean and comfortable with a huge comfy bed, tea/coffee making and lovely biscuits. The bathroom was immaculate with good quality towels and toiletries. We will definitely return.

Beautiful inn in a peaceful setting
Stopped for a night while walking the Cleveland Way with a friend and couldn't fault the property or service! The location is and property are beautiful, and from the moment we arrived the staff were polite and attentive and went out of their way to help with a breakfast complication (caused by our walk planning rather than the property). Particularly fond of the little garden just outside the rooms! Excellent place - would definitely stay again under more relaxed circumstances!

A real breath of fresh air
An absolutely stellar stay at this wonderful country inn. The location is perfect for exploring the coast and Runswick bay a few minutes drive away. The whole experience was top class. The staff and owner are welcoming and the food is extraordinarily good. The accommodation is really cosy and clean. We will be back soon!

A lovely place to stay. The rooms are really comfortable with little extras like fresh milk and water in the fridge. The food is excellent especially the full English breakfast. The staff are very pleasant and helpful nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended.

Fabulous location in peaceful Yorkshire countryside, 10 minute drive from a great beach at Sandsend. Excellent room (spacious, clean and all the facilities), friendly and helpful staff who are attentive without being overbearing, great food. Absolutely faultess, we'll be returning :)

Little gem of a place
We stayed just 1 night. The room was comfy and the ensuite sparkly clean. Service was excellent with genuine smiles and was attentive, proactive and honest. Breakfast was honestly the best I have had in a very long time

The paintwork is not tired, the mattress was clean and new looking as were the carpets. Everywhere was very clean. The toiletries and beverages in the room were great quality and variety. Food was very good too. Staff were welcoming, warm and friendly.

We booked our room last minute after checking straight out of a different hotel. It was awful so we left and luckily found a room at Ellerby. We booked it sat in the car and drove straight there. It was beautiful outside and in, booked a table for a meal which was 10/10 . The food , service , everything was great. The room itself was beautiful , spacious and provided everything you could possibly need. The bed was very comfortable and everything was amazing. We will definitely be back, we loved it. Highly recommended x

I fail to understand why I was charged £30 extra for the same room because my husband joined me at the last minute. I would have been more than happy to pay additional £10 - £12 for breakfast but felt that £30 was ridiculous. especially as it was exactly the same room.

Very well situated with bus stop straight outside . Within easy reach of the Cleveland Way . Very quiet set in small hamlet of Ellerby. The Hotel is excellent, staff are the best , helpful polite, knowledgable of area , nothing to much trouble. The food is excellent , we ate at the Ellerby on both nights . A must stay

Love this place!
This place is a gem! 20 mins on a bus from Whitby, the rooms are comfy, tastefully decorated, the food is homemade & delicious, beautiful coffee & proper Yorkshire tea! The treats left in your room for your dog are a lovely touch!
