Staying in a traditional Samoan fale was awesome and the Legalo family made me feel like one of their own and the rest of the village was similarly hospitable. If you want a taste of what real life in Samoa is like, this is for you. Be sure to check out To Sua Ocean Trench and Lalomanu Beach and get plenty of time in at the bar and in the water. Salepaga is where time stands still in the best way possible. The fales are authentic and really comfortable. The shared facilities are really good. The owners and staff are all really welcoming and look after you, the food they provide for breakfast and dinner is delicious. Dinner was 35WST per person per night but worth it for the amount of food you get. There is also a bar in the main dinner hut which they open earlier in the evening so that you can get a drink and enjoy it on the beach. The beach itself is really clean, the water is super clear, and there's some ok snorkelling if you go a little bit further out - the coral is slowly regenerating but there's lots of fish. They'll give you snorkels too if you need. If you walk further along the beach west, you'll get to see the sunset fully. We stayed 2 nights but could have easily spent a week here.
