Top Sajkod Hotel Reviews

Mövenpick Balaland Resort Lake Balaton

Mövenpick Balaland Resort Lake Balaton

8/10 Good
"Excellent room and facilities. Room and certain other areas such as softplay, could have been cleaner, with dust build up around edges. Some of the hotel seemed a bit disorganised. Booked a takeaway breakfast for an early flight home, and the employee at the front desk claimed that this was not possible. Kitchen staff acknowledged that it had been ordered, but when to check if it was finished and never came back. Kids club activities didn't run to schedule. Pool opening times seemed to change each day. Overall a brilliant hotel for kids, just needs some more attention to detail to be truely amazing."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Sajkod?
The best area to stay in Sajkod is right along the shores of Lake Balaton, particularly near the main beach and the Tihany ferry connection.

This area is the heart of Sajkod, offering direct access to the lake and its recreational activities. You'll find a selection of holiday homes and a few guesthouses located amongst the trees, providing a tranquil setting. The main beach, known for its clear waters and pebble shore, is the focal point, with a small snack bar and boat rentals available. The road leading to the Tihany ferry is also where you'll find the most amenities.

For families, staying close to the main beach is ideal. Children can enjoy swimming and playing on the shore, and the proximity to the ferry makes day trips to Tihany's lavender fields and abbey very convenient. The quiet surroundings ensure a relaxing holiday for everyone.

Couples looking for a peaceful escape will also appreciate this lakeside location. The evenings are calm, great for enjoying a glass of local wine on a terrace overlooking the water.
When is the best time to go to Sajkod?
The best time to go to Sajkod for pleasant weather and outdoor activities is from late spring to early autumn, specifically from May to September.

During these months, the weather is generally warm and sunny, with average temperatures ranging from 20°C to 28°C. This period is ideal for enjoying Lake Balaton, whether you're swimming, paddleboarding, or simply relaxing by the shore. The natural beauty of the Tihany Peninsula, which Sajkod is part of, is also at its peak, making it superb for hiking and exploring.

Families will find July and August particularly appealing due to the warmer lake temperatures, which are superb for children to enjoy swimming and other water sports. There are also often more organised activities and events around Lake Balaton during the peak summer months, providing entertainment for all ages.

For couples seeking a more tranquil experience with pleasant weather, May, June, and September are excellent choices. The crowds are typically smaller than in the peak summer, allowing for more peaceful walks along the lake and through the lavender fields of Tihany.
