"We had a lovely two day stay at Les Chambres du Chapitre. Our hosts were very kind and helpful. Our room was lovely, filled with antiques but had a very comfortable large bed and a place to sit. The bathroom was modern and squeaky clean. The room was very large with lovely big windows. Breakfast had a very nice variety of very fresh items. We were able to store our bikes in their courtyard but they also had a separate garage where they could be stored. "

"My wife and myself stayed overnight on the way to skiing in the Alps. and the location was perfect at just about half way from London. Just south of the main town of Chaumont the Hostellerie is in a beautiful little village just off the main road. I would strongly suggest getting there early enough to eat in the resturant; partly because the food was excellent and partly because there is nowhere else nearby without getting back in the car. The host, Frederick , has many years experience in the hospitality business and it shows with his polite, inviting and relaxed manner. A lovely man who runs a tight ship. (His English is also excellent if that is important). We usually try to go somewhere different each time we drive to the Alps but may well make an exception for this place with a pretty morning stroll and sightseeing available nearby if you want. (Viaduct and Charles de Gaulle monument e.g.). We didn't stay for breakfast but we never do, a bit odd handing the key over the night before rather than a key box but hey ho!"

"Overnight stop. Room clean and warm. Plenty of hot water. Bathroom quite cramped, but I managed! Evening meal excellent and inexpensive. Breakfast varied and generous. Staff friendly. Would stay here again!"

"It is a very roomy home with a lovely view over the ramparts to the lake. It is a small walk to the shops and we had a great stay."

"Fantastic location with friendly hosts! Our room was large, comfortable (with a fab view of the deer) and a large ensuite with bath and shower. The dinner was delicious - 3 courses - with wine and other drinks available if you wanted it. Breakfast included tasty home made goodies by Steph. This was a great chilled overnight stop."

"This is the second time we have stopped here. Last time, great - no problems, but this time was awful. We arrived very late (06:00) due to delays. Check-in was fine as the day shift had started work! When we opened the room door, we were greeted with the most awful reek of cigarettes. The room just stank☹️. Obviously the hotel staff were aware of the problem as the window was left wide open. I can only imagine how much worse it would have been if we had checked in the day before and the window had not been open for many hours……. Breakfast was OK, but not as good as last time, with very little food available- and no croissants! The staff were friendly and welcoming, but we could have done without the “filthy old ashtray” atmosphere in the room. We had just travelled 400 miles and taken a ferry - all we wanted was a sleep in a clean and fresh smelling room!"

"Amazing hotel in a quaint village. Convenient, walkable. Nice restaurant . Reasonable priced breakfast. 130 year old family owned hotel. Lovely out door space on the second floor. Locked parking lot. We experienced auto mechanical problem with our rental. Owner Maxim went above and beyond at 11pm to help us out. Wonderful experience. We recommend you stay here and experience French hospitality."

"vanaf het moment dat je aankomt voel je de liefde van de eigenaren die ze in de verbouwing van het enorme pand hebben gestoken. Het is werkelijk fantastisch. Aan alles is gedacht. Iedereen heeft z'n eigen mooie plekje in de prachtige slaapkamers en badkamers en daarnaast is perceel van alle gemakken voorzien. We komen graag nog een keer terug."
