"This is NOT a hotel! The front desk explained that it is a condo rental. That means you do not get any cleaning, even with a8 night stay. And you get 1 bath towel, nothing else. No replacement towels, and no hand towel or washcloths. And you get 1 roll of toilet paper, then you have to buy it yourself. Having said that, the front desk staff was very helpful, when they were present. And it is only 1 block to the beach. If you have a larger rental car, beware of the enclosed parking spaces...

"This is a great house to base yourself and to explore the local area. It has everything you need. And ideally you can park your car inside the gates for safety, I found this very important as I was travelling by car from Ireland and I wanted the car safe. The rental management company was helpful and arrived early for my departure which allowed me to hit the road early. Thank you for a lovely stay. Jennifer"

Hôtel La Corniche

6/10 Okay

"We booked weeks in advance and arrived after a four hour drive to be told that we couldn't use car park because we did not reserve parking. Hotels.com gave no options to reserve and the listing details say nothing about reservation. There was no on road parking available. The manager kept saying it is clearly marked and I showed him it wasn't. Eventually the young lady on reception worked something out to park at the side of the hotel. That night and before we left two parking spaces remained available in the parking. So frustrating and needless stress. The room was very basic and looked nothing like the photos. Breakfast buffet was very basic and poor value for money. No gluten free or lactose free options despite messaging twice in advance. If I didn't bring my own food I would have had nothing yet still paid for breakfast!!! The coastline is beautiful but the town was lacklustre. It was not even that cheap! Go elsewhere. Paid much less for much better, overpriced and underperforming hotel. We would have left were it not for the really friendly and helpful young lady on reception. "

"This is a very nice hotel. The rooms are tasteful and well laid out. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. We only had breakfast one day but it is very good. Hot and cold options allow you to have anything from a pastries and jams to fruit, yoghurt, to cheeses, charcuterie, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages. The rooftop terrace has great views of the port, but it can get windy. The pool is gorgeous but small and there are only six sun loungers, which can get competitive. It is well situated, just a short walk from the main parts of town and most of the good restaurants. If we visit Les Sables-d'Olonne again, we will definitely stay at Hotel Vertime again."

The room was small with bed against the wall so accessible from one side only. The bed itself was comfortable.
