Saint-Privat-des-Pres Holidays from £369

Nice hotel, breakfast was really good. No actual beach and very remote. Pool was quite crowded especially as no beach. Late check in was annoying and the dogs and children were hot sat around waiting when it was 37 degrees outside. Staff were okay but not as helpful as you’d expect for the price.

I was so excited to stay at this hotel and admittedly had high expectations. The hotel itself is gorgeous, breath-taking even. It's incredibly well-kept, surrounded by gorgeous vineyards, the room was spacious with views overlooking vineyards, the pool clean, the restaurant was beautiful. We loved taking the bikes out and riding through the vineyard backroads to visit multiple wineries and the location itself is only a 5 minute drive to town. My call out on this stay was the staff... Now, the restaurant staff were wonderful for the most part, however, when sitting in the lounge area, there were times that it was very difficult to get anyone's attention, even when others around us were being served, several times, taking 40 minutes to just get a drink we'd ordered or even longer to get the bill, even when asked for it 3 times, while the restaurant was sitting empty. The front desk staff were really the biggest issue, they seemed annoyed that we wanted a tour, gave conflicting information and made us feel like we were a bother, the majority of the time. Granted this was not the entire staff, just a select few. But when we pay for a 5 star experience, I come with high expectations to answer questions and ensure we have everything we need... like, food, or the correct hours for the lounge area and snacks vs just the restaurant. That put a damper on the experience as a whole but the property was beautiful.

Even though I only stayed one night, the experience was amazing. Meticulous attention to detail, making my stay a very memorable one. The food is incredible, whether you choose to dine A La Carte or try one of their very well put together Degustacion menus. Great selection of wine and they take great deal of pride in presenting the local Bordeaux region, its wines and local delicacies. Highly recommended.
