Awesome Home at Sky Hawk Ridge, a 185-Acre Refuge, ONE MILE to Buffalo River
ESCAPE THE CROWDS to the Great Outdoors!
Sky Hawk Ridge is place of extraordinary beauty, a 185-acre natural refuge at the gateway to Buffalo River National Park. This stunning vacation home is only five years old and sparkling clean! Farmhouse Style on the outside, bright and open inside. The cabin is nestled in the forest and affords a lovely view of a wooded hollow and distant mountain peaks beyond. The expansive, private-park setting at Sky Hawk is shared with just three other cabins.
THE LAND
When you stay at Sky Hawk Ridge, you won't stay inside for long. Roam the land and discover the wonders of this beautiful landscape. Enjoy misty morning walks through dew-covered fields. Watch golden sunsets over Ozark Mountains. When you walk along Sky Hawk's long ridge, you see up the Buffalo River Valley to layered green hillsides and distant blue ridge lines. You see rolling meadows with sentinel oaks, cattle grazing in lush pastures, deep green woods -- nature's beauty at every turn.
Explore miles of private trails that wind through dense forests and beside crystal streams. Wildlife is everywhere -- deer, turkey, fox, owls, songbirds, and all sorts of woodland creatures. Be dazzled by spring flowers, blue summer skies, rich fall colors, or foggy winter mornings. Sky Hawk Ridge is a nature-lover's paradise all year long.
LOCATION
Sky Hawk is just off US 65 on the north side of the Buffalo River. Restaurants, canoe rentals and river access points at Grinders Ferry, Gilbert and Tyler Bend are less than ten minutes away, but at Sky Hawk you’re secluded and surrounded by natural beauty -- away from it all.
The entrance is on the Gilbert Road (Hwy. 333), just 0.4 mile east of US 65. Two-tenths mile from the entry, across from an open meadow, a driveway leads down through the woods to a metal-roofed cabin with cedar siding, naturally weathered to blend with the surrounding landscape.
Sky Hawk Ridge has 3/4 mile of park frontage, and the Buffalo River Trail is just steps from the property corner. The park trail leads about a mile down to a long, wide gravel bar at Shine Eye Bluff -- the perfect spot to picnic, swim, fish or enjoy a lazy afternoon. (Shine Eye is also accessible by road, a five-minute drive.)

The cabin was beautiful and very clean. We utilized all the outdoor space and trails. Donna (onsite) was very kind and made sure we had everything we needed. She made sure we knew she was available for questions. Lori (Owner and Host) was extremely accommodating and responsive.
We have stayed at Sky Hawk Ridge multiple times and love it so much! The cabins have everything you need and are beautifully decorated and always clean. We always see wildlife while there and enjoy walking all the trails. It is really peaceful and the perfect place to getaway!
This was the perfect place to stay for our annual Buffalo River weekend. Along with it being absolutely gorgeous, it had everything we needed to feel right at home. The beds were very comfortable and it has a washer/dryer which was a nice perk. We were able to wash our beach towels each day and we didn’t have to bring home stinky towels and a mountain of laundry! I also loved that it’s pet friendly and our little yorkie was allowed to tag along
Loved another year at Sky Hawk Ridge. This was our first time staying at another cabin besides the ranch house and it was wonderful. Gorgeous views, private feel, wonderful walking trails and a kitchen with every amenity you could imagine. Always love our Thanksgiving time spent here and looking forward to more future memories.
The place is absolutely spectacular with amazing views and everything you need for a beautiful experience. The host are great and take care of everything. Best property on the Buffalo River. Definitely stay there!
We absolutely enjoyed the property. With our young kids we felt extremely comfortable and safe with them roaming about so us parents actually got to relax! We loved it so much that we are currently looking to return back to the property in June.
We had a great Spring Break at Sky Hawk Ridge. The house was perfect in every way! We roamed the trails, enjoyed a campfire, and even saw some deer! I would recommend this property and will stay there again when visiting this area.
Great location next to a few restaurants, smoked meats and store. Bathrooms and shower were great, beds comfortable and beautiful overall. Lots of wildlife viewing. Only thing we would change is to cut down more trees to take advantage of the view. Loved it, thanks!
It was nice to find a place with so much space and nature around it. Also was able to bring 2 dogs with owner’s permission. Lots of places only allow one. Clean and comfortable with great views.
Wife and I had stayed once already.
We loved it so much we booked a late spring break for the whole family.
EVERYONE throughly enjoyed the relaxation. What a nice respite.
Thank you, Jeff and Consuela
What an appropriate place to view the total eclipse from the deck of this magnificent cabin! Everyone had a great time. Hiking and going down to the Buffalo River was fun. The area is nature at its best. This was our second stay at Skyhawk Ridge. There will be another!
The family ALWAYS relaxes when we stay here. We come away from private restful, unspoiled family time with no contact or care for the world.
Peaceful , quiet setting. First class accommodation. This is our 4th stay on the property and the 2nd in this home.
Will be visiting for years to come.
Best, Jeff
Second time staying here. Beautiful luxe cabin in a very private location. Floated the river one day. Drove to Blanchard Springs Caverns for cave tour another day. Don’t miss the giant cinnamon rolls at Ferguson’s (2 minutes away). Skylark Cafe in Leslie has the best pies and cakes in the state (and huge selection). Always wanted to go to a drive-in movie theatre? One in Marshall just down the road.
We had a great stay at this property visiting the Buffalo River and exploring the National Forest. The cabin is absolutely stunning and cozy. Worked very well for our family. All the amenities we needed were on hand which simplified things very much. Host dropped off a pet basket at check-in and offered a neighboring basement property for shelter in case of bad weather, which was expected while we were there. We will be back this fall.
My husband and I stayed for the weekend with our dog. Lovely and clean house, very well maintained with all the necessary amenities. Communication was great with the owner as well. The hiking trails on the property could have used more up keep. Bug spray is absolutely necessary. Otherwise fantastic place right next to buffalo river. highly recommend!
Spectacular View of Mountains - Outstanding Property
Breathed a sigh of relief as I walked in the door and could see that the house looked exactly like the photos. Guys left early each morning to fish the Norfork and I had the house to myself. Wanted a place to relax and unwind and this beautifully decorated home hit the mark. All of the relaxing things I imagined doing came to fruition such as sitting in front of fireplace on cool mornings and evenings, having the large sliding glass doors open and letting the breeze sweep through when the days warmed up, walking on the trails, and sitting on the covered balcony listening to and watching the wildlife. It was a lovely experience.
