Saint-Hippolyte is a French commune located in the north-east of the Pyrénées-Orientales department in the Occitanie region.  
Exposed to a Mediterranean climate, it is drained by several small streams. The commune boasts a remarkable natural heritage: two Natura 2000 sites (the “Salses lagoon complex” and the “Salses-Leucate lagoon complex”), one protected area (the Etang de Salses-Leucate) and four natural zones of ecological, faunistic and floristic interest.
