The house has been renovated from the original building which housed pigeons some years ago. (Pigeonholes are even still visible) The house has its own outside seating area for “al-fresco” dining located near to the main entrance of the accommodation. Outdoor table and chairs are available and also a parasol. A private charcoal Bbq completes the outside equipment. Several relaxing chairs are also provided. Le Pigeonnier has been classified as 3\* accommodation by the French Tourist Board. The main door leads from the courtyard directly to the living room complete with 2 comfortable sofas. The wood burner is set in the original stone fireplace and bread furnace. Adjacent to the living room is the contemporary kitchen with an extending dining table to comfortably seat 4 guests. There is an induction cooker, an electric oven, also a dishwasher, microwave and fridge/freezer, and all the appliances you may need for your breakfast (toaster, kettle, coffee machine), even an extra espresso machine (with coffee powder), and a hand- held electrical blender and whisk. In the living room is a satellite Tv, a Dvd player, a stereo and board games. On the ground floor, there is also a large bathroom with a shower cabinet and WC. On the first floor a second smaller bathroom is adjacent to the singles bedroom (with shower cabin and Wc too) Bedrooms and bathrooms configuration: The first floor accommodation is accessed by a spiral staircase (safety fence can be used for young children). On 1st floor, you will find: • 1 bedroom with a double bed. A large platform (3 steps from 1st floor) allows a children’s bed (<12 years old) to be installed. • 1 interconnected/adjoining bedroom with 2 single beds (+ its 1 shower room and WC) The 1st floor can also be reached from outside using the outside stoned stairs (easier to drop the luggage) The site “Manoir du Bourg” comprises three stunning 17th-century properties, steeped in history and located in the centre of the village of Saint Helen. It consists of three stone -built properties with many original features including beams and old fireplaces. The properties can be booked as all three houses or as single units (more details follow). Rented all together, they can accommodate 22 guests in total from May to the end of September. The properties provide luxury accommodation for families, groups of friends or individuals looking for something a little bit special. The 3 properties are situated in a grassy, landscaped courtyard. The owners, Laure and David live on site. Le Manoir, sleeps 12 persons Le Pigeonnier, sleeps 4 persons Le Puits, sleeps 6 persons Please enquire if you need more detail of any of the properties above. A private parking area (outside the property but adjacent to the main gate) allows 1 car to park. For more than this a public parking place (free and safe) is also very near to the property (1 minute walk). In 2023, it will be possible to recharge your electric car on the private parking area. There will be a cost for this. Please ask when you make your booking. The gardens are large (total 2000 m2!) with a lovely grassy area, an ideal haven to play safely. You can play football, molkky, (Scandinavian skittles) badminton, palets Breton (kind of breton ‘pétanque’), etc. There is a shady area with also a pergola and tables There is a shared heated outdoor swimming pool, (safe access via a gate) dimensions: 9x4 meters. Deckchairs and parasol are available there. The pool is open from 1st May until the end of September. Please bring your own pool towels. Also at your disposal is a covered games area with table tennis, darts and a pool table. A popular addition for the youngsters is an indoor den, also known as “The Kid’s Only” room – no adults allowed! This has a flat-screen Tv and children's DVDs together with games and books. It is a great place for the youngsters to chill out. The Manoir is located in the peaceful heart of the village Saint Helen, close to Dinan in northern Brittany (10 minutes away by car). It's just a minute's walk to the local bar (with a small grocer's shop where you will also find regional products) and a bakery where delicious fresh breads and pastries are baked daily. The closest supermarkets are located at Lanvallay, 7 minutes ago from your accommodation by car. In Saint Helen, there is also a tennis court adjacent to the property (some racquets from the owners are available) and a small fishing lake a few minutes’ walk away. The beautiful forest of Coetquen is only 10 minutes walk from the Manoir. Ideal for walkers, joggers, trekkers, bikers etc. Bicycles can be hired locally and delivered to your accommodation! There is much to see and do without travelling far! It makes Le Manoir a perfect place for a happy and relaxed holiday. A little bit further, just a few minutes away by car, the nearby zoo and aquarium are great places to visit. You should not miss visiting Dinan, Saint Malo, Dinard, Erquy, Saint Cast-Le-Guildo, Cancale, Le Mont Saint Michel, and all the wonderful beaches along the north Brittany coast, walking on the famous long hiking trail Gr34 bordering the Brittany coast from Mont Saint Michel to Saint Nazaire (about 2000 km for fans of trekking!!)! More details on what to do and see and to travel across our region will be sent to you in the welcome booklet of your accommodation a couple of weeks before your arrival. Inside all the accommodations Each house has a fully equipped dining kitchen, modern bathrooms, individually designed bedrooms, satellite Tv, Dvd, wireless internet connection, also its own BBQ's and outside seating area for “al fresco” dining. Cots and equipment for young children (high- chair, baby bath, baby changing mat) are available on request. Please bring your baby’s bedding with you. Please note pets are not allowed. Bedlinen is provided. Guests are requested to bring their own personal bath and pool towels. An outbuilding in the courtyard houses 3 washing machines for guest use. Cook chef, catering services: Complete your experience during your stay in France by enjoying a gastronomic meal served at your cottage. After deciding the menu with Laure, she will take care of all details, from buying ingredients, preparing and serving the meal to you. Your chef can also take care of your daily meals. (services to be booked in advance before your arrival) A food truck offering freshly made crepes, a Breton speciality, can be arranged to visit Manoir du Bourg. This is dependent on a minimum number of 12 guests wishing to book. It is a great opportunity to sample the local cuisine. Please ask Laure if this may be of interest to you during your stay. Included services \- Shared heated swimming pool: Price: Included in the booking- Heated Pool: Services available according to season Opening date: 23/05/2026. Closing date: 26/09/2026. A SPA (hot tub), which can accommodate 5-6 guests. This will be heated to 37° and will be available to all guests at Manoir du Bourg. A booking system will be in place and in principle each gite will be able to use the facility for 1 hour per day, apart from the largest gite Le Manoir whose guests can use for 2 hours per day. The house is beautiful with everything we could need to make our holiday perfect. We loved that our children (4 & 2) were safe and had the space to play outside and the pool area is wonderful. We stayed the previous year with a large group of family in The Manoir and had such a great time that we returned with our family of 4 this time. There is now a bakers a few minutes walk so we enjoyed fresh croissants each morning. There are some lovely towns nearby and some beautiful beaches to visit. David and Laure were the perfect hosts, very kind and welcoming with lots of top recommendations for restaurants, beaches, local walks and activities. The accommodation was immaculately presented with all essentials provided for including a cot, high chair and baby bath for our 1 year old. The idyllic grounds were perfect for relaxing and the (heated!) pool area was particularly lovely. St Helen had a great bakery for daily morning croissants and a local food market on Saturday. There were also plenty of nearby walking routes from the Gite, including a woodland trail.
