• The accommodation
We completely renovated this old barn in 2026 to give it a new life, combining modern comfort with the charm of authenticity. Designed and decorated with the family, the house reveals a singular atmosphere where every detail has been carefully thought out. Antique furniture, raw materials and contemporary touches combine to create a place that is warm, elegant and inspiring at the same time.
Spread over 115 m?, the house opens onto a large living room bathed in light, accessible directly from the car park by a large French window. This convivial space is ideal for getting together and sharing special moments, with family or friends. The accommodation also has Wi-Fi access.

The sleeping area offers four comfortable bedrooms: three beautiful bedrooms with 160x200 beds and storage, as well as a bedroom with two 90x200 beds, perfect for hosting children or friends.

The kitchen, spacious and fully equipped, will seduce lovers of conviviality: induction hob, oven, dishwasher, combined fridge, microwave, kettle, coffee maker, raclette machine, blender... everything is there to make the most of your meals.

Linen is provided (sheets and towels) for a stay in complete serenity.

On the bathroom side, you will have an elegant bathroom with double sink, large shower and washing machine, as well as a separate toilet.

For families, equipment for young children can be made available on request (travel cot, high chair, changing table).

In order to preserve the quality of the premises and the comfort of everyone, pets are not allowed.

No smoking/vaping indoors.

The accommodation does not have a reinforced socket or an EV charging station. It is therefore strictly forbidden to plug in your car at home.

In the heart of the village of Saint-Donat, you will find a multi-service point with a supermarket, bar, post office and public service area, ideal for everyday needs. The town also offers a few local shops, including a supermarket and a clothing shop.
For more choice, several surrounding villages host weekly and seasonal markets: Besse-et-Saint-Anastaise, Égliseneuve-d'Entraigues, La Tour-d'Auvergne, La Bourboule or Saint-Nectaire. You will discover local products, crafts and Auvergne specialities in an authentic atmosphere.

ACTIVITIES AND NATURE
Located in the heart of the Massif du Sancy, the house is an ideal starting point for lovers of wide open spaces. Less than 10 to 20 km away, a multitude of hikes are available to you: the glacial cirque of the Fontaine Salée, the waterfalls and peat bogs of Chastreix, Lake Chauvet, the valley of the Fontaine Salée, the ascent of the Puy de Sancy or the great waterfalls of Mont-Dore.
The region lends itself perfectly to hiking, trail running and the discovery of unique volcanic landscapes, between high altitude lakes and preserved panoramas. Just 10 minutes away, Chastreix also offers horseback riding to explore the surrounding area in a different way.

SKI RESORT
In winter, you enjoy a privileged location to access the resorts of the Massif du Sancy. The family resort of Chastreix-Sancy is about 10 minutes away by car (just over 7 km), ideal for accessible and friendly skiing.
The larger and more dynamic resort of Super-Besse is less than 20 km away (about 20 minutes), offering a ski area suitable for all levels, especially more experienced skiers and snowboarders.
