8.8/10 Excellent! (2,843 reviews)
On check-in for 5 days, I was put in a room with disabled access. I was not advised of this but when I saw it, thought it would be fine. The first time I showered, I found that the water spread all over the floor. To me, it was obvious that the cause was a tiled floor with poor slope design. I was told there was no other room to move me to, but they would send a technician to look at the drain. Three visits and a new drain cover did not fix it (no surprise as it was the floor at fault). Meanwhile, I had to use the extra towels to dam the water and try to keep it contained to flow down the drain. The final straw was on my last morning shower before checkout - a large cockroach came up through the bigger holes in the "new" drain cover. The maid service is not daily and despite requesting it one day, they said my do not disturb sign was up when they came - did not get any in the 5 days.
In general, the layout of this hotel is very complex and not easy to navigate around - more, better signage would help. The priority clearly is given to timeshare owners and not the casual visitor like myself.

9.2/10 Wonderful! (114 reviews)
"Friendly and helpful staff. A beautiful location and a building at somewhat remote location far from most sites. Rooms lacked usual 4 star hotel services including coffee&tea making facilities. No access to the beach even the hotel is by the sea. No pool or gym. El Hierro is an amazing island with ..."

Another Great Stay at Apartamentos Verodes.
"We had another nice stay at Apartamentos Verodes. This was our third stay at Apartamentos. It is a very convenient location to see the sights and do the hikes. There are many in this area just a short drive away. The kitchen is well equipped. We had some issues with lighting and range/hob, but we ..."
