This is a hard review to write. Wanted to love this place but the experience was very odd. Stayed 2 nights, only guests in bldg of approx 20 rooms, a red flag. Bldg looks just like the pics. Only "room" issue was the smell of moth balls, tested a different room and found the same, either an odd cleaner is used or the whole place is so unused it just smells.
Truly odd part was the "service". The "manager" (middle aged man, don't know his real role, told that by staff member) barely spoke, didn't welcome us, gave us no information about anything (written or verbal) and when we asked questions he wasn't much better. We asked if possible to breakfast 7:30 vs normal 8:00 to climb Christoffel, he was fine with doing this but asked US to "start" calling HIM an hour ahead to wake him up! Who does this?! We left the property for dinner, upon return the driveway gate was closed, we had no idea what to do (as mentioned he gave us no instructions about anything). Their dog started barking enough to get his attention, he yelled from roof top deck to tell us how to open gate. Upon parking we found door to building locked, we didn't know it would be locked, we had no key, and after yelling down about the gate how was it not obvious to him to hustle to the door since we'd clearly need to get in?? After some banging he he let us in. No real words exchanged, no apology, seemed like we were an imposition.
Someone spent a lot of money to build this place, it's not long for the world.
