SF Playhouse

The location of this hotel was great—only a 5-minute walk to Fisherman’s Wharf. The hotel parking was valet-only and very expensive. It was listed as $75, but because our car was oversized, we had to pay an additional $10, plus $12 in taxes, for a total of $97 for just one night. The room was clean. We booked two rooms and asked for them to be close to each other, but we had to wait an additional three hours for the rooms to be ready. Because of the long wait, the hotel gave us free breakfast vouchers for everyone for one day. My only complaint is about the bathroom towel hangers. There were only two hangers—one on the bathroom door and one inside the shower, which was not usable. There were no hangers for face towels or bath towels, which is inconvenient when sharing a room. Other than that, everything was good.

Very nice hotel. Stairs to the second floor are steep

We really enjoyed our stay at The Marker. The hotel had a classic style which gave it a lot of character, while still being very comfortable. The service was excellent throughout our stay, and the location worked really well for us—it’s within easy walking distance of a lot of the places we wanted to visit in San Francisco. The price was reasonable, especially given the location and quality of the hotel. Overall, The Marker was comfortable, convenient, distinctive, and a great value. I would stay there again.
