I stayed at this property with my husband, elderly mother and infant son. Both my elderly mother and my infant child are extremely vulnerable to the heat.
The blind in my elderly mother's bedroom was broken (despite clearly shown to be working in the listing photograph) meaning there was no airflow through the room, making it not only uncomfortable but also dangerously hot. The windows in my infants bedroom were all broken, meaning there was no airflow through the room and it was ten degrees hotter than is safe for infant sleep, leaving him at risk of sudden infant death syndrome.
I raised this multiple times with the property manager and through the WhatsApp message service to Sykes but there was no resolution during the entire stay. This made the stay completely unsafe. I booked via Expedia and they have been requesting a refund approval for two weeks as this stay clearly was a breach of contract with substandard service under the consumer rights act 2015. I also contacted Sykes myself via multiple emails which have gone ignored, and twice via telephone initially 10 days ago to chase this, and when I contacted them again today to chase yet again I was told that they still haven't made any progress with the case. This is frankly obscene.
Further to the above, to explain the cleanliness rating, the beds in the property had crumbling pieces of wall littered on the sheets, as did the kitchen counters, there was mould on the bath mat and cobwebs in multiple rooms.
