The best area to stay in Rumah Ansi is directly within the longhouse itself, as this is the primary and most authentic accommodation experience available.Rumah Ansi is a traditional Iban longhouse, a single, communal dwelling where multiple families live under one roof. When you stay here, you're not just getting a room; you're becoming part of the community, even if just for a short while. The main communal area, called the ruai, runs the length of the longhouse and is where most social activities take place, from weaving and crafts to evening gatherings. Individual family rooms, or bilik, branch off from the ruai. This unique setting is superb for travellers looking for a deep cultural experience. You'll have the opportunity to learn about Iban traditions, sample local cuisine, and witness daily life firsthand.

The best time to visit Rumah Ansi is during the dry season, which typically runs from March to October.During these months, you'll experience less rainfall, making it ideal for outdoor activities and exploring the local area without interruption. The weather is generally warm and sunny, great for enjoying the natural beauty and cultural experiences Rumah Ansi has to offer. This period also tends to have calmer river conditions, which is beneficial if you plan on any boat trips or water-based excursions.Conversely, the monsoon season, from November to February, brings heavier and more frequent rain. While the rainforest is lush and beautiful during this time, some outdoor activities might be affected by the weather, and river levels can be higher.
