It is less than 10 minutes from the actual town of Appenzell, which is very nice, and it was easy to drive to many sights in the region, so the location was excellent! Parking was easy and right next to the house. The apartment itself is quaint, comfortable, and roomy. There was a tub (helpful for those with little kids) with a shower. We did not, but if one were to ski, there would be plenty of storage space. The kitchen is small, but well-equipped, and there is a table in both the kitchen and living room. The apartment is above the home of the family renting the apartment, and there is only a gate at the top of the stairs, but you really only share an entry-way with the family; their home is behind doors on the first floor. The yard is spectacular with rolling hills and a swing set that my daughter enjoyed. Maria, the proprietor, speaks some English, which was helpful since we don't speak German. She and her husband are very kind. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay here and would recommend it to others. (Please note, because this is a German language site, it seems to be trying to "translate" my review, already in English, into annoyingly stilted English.) ##### Kimberly J.
