The hotel is pet-friendly, which was a big plus for us, and our dog was made very welcome. The staff were friendly and helpful, but a special mention has to go to Christine at reception, who was exceptionally kind, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay.
Our room was clean and comfortable, and the bed was particularly comfortable. As the hotel is right beside the harbour, there was some noise from the road and boats, even with the window closed, but this is understandable given the location.
Breakfast had a good selection and there was plenty of choice to suit different tastes.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend Hotel Tara. We would be happy to stay again, especially when travelling with our dog.

Very friendly, attentive staff.
The garden view suite was very large, beautifully decorated and furnished, however it had not been thoroughly dusted or vacuumed.
We had to advise the front desk of a couple of maintenance matters in our bathroom and that we needed the heating turned on and these were promptly attended to.

We had a fantastic time staying for one night. We made use of the pool and had a fantastic dinner as well as breakfast. Room was clean. Staff were very helpful and attentive.

We had a family night away here
Great central hotel on the main street,
We went to the sister hotel on the sunday and used the leisure facilities which were great.
We had food in the bar which was lovely and great service
Only thing I would say is there were groups of people coming back at 2am,3am,4am and they were congregated in the hallways and very loud. There was no one walking the floors to reduce the noise which I think in a city hotel is always useful when there are groups of people, so sleep quality wasn't good and made for a long night
