Trout fishing and canoeing. This house is upstream of all the canoe liveries. the mason tract, (flies only water), starts 4 miles downstream. State ski/ hiking trail starts at the end of the road, (⅛ mile) . Groomed for classical and skating. snowmobile trails in town. (1 mile) Higgins Lake is 10 minuets away. Our favorite house to stay at when we are visiting Roscommon Michigan. Roscommon is such a cute little town with lots of friendly people. Bill the owner was very nice, and the check in was a easy process. The house was very clean, no complaints! Everything was so beautiful and relaxing. Like previous guests have said the home is very well stocked. Large kitchen with everything you could need including coffee pots, coffee filters baking sheets, etc. bathrooms well stocked also with toilet paper soap, towels, all the essentials. Great backyard with fire pit and firewood provided. Can walk right out your back door with a tube and float down the river to the canoe livery about a 20 -25 minute float and then walk back to the house only a half a mile. Couldn’t ask for a better host. He answers very promptly and took care of any issues we had (AC went out and he had somebody there within 30 minutes to fix). We had no snow, however, so we just did some train running and hiking instead and would love to return when there is some snow. The fireplace is double-facing and really big -- plenty of wood. It's the second time we've rented this home and most likely won't be the last. It's perfect for a larger group (we had six and a dog). The pictures on the site are accurate. Spacious kitchen and a brand new gas stove made cooking very enjoyable. Super close to a market and gas station and a few restaurants, all walkable. The home is in a great location and close to everything we wanted to do. We only had one rainy day and loved that we could play pool and games, or even separate to our rooms for down time. Had to call owner once about a small problem and he was on it very quickly. Enjoyed the fire-pit, the river view, horseshoes, close access to Campbell's canoe and kayak livery. We could walk from the home to the Tisdale Triangle Trail head as it is right at the end of Esther Ct. Short drive to the Marguerite Gahagan Nature Preserve and close enough to 1-75 that a trip to Hartwick Pines was an easy drive. I also loved that there were three bathrooms each with its own shower! Mom, Dad, and 3 daughters ages 12, 8, 7\. Plenty of room and so many things to explore. We used Campbell's down the road to Kayak. Higgins lake state park is so close we visited there for a day trip. We golfed, and spent the rest of the time on the decks overlooking the gorgeous river. ##### Stephanie s.
