Pillar Rock Retreat Guesthouse
The quintessential Pacific NW getaway! This river retreat is nestled in front of a scenic hillside, has panoramic Columbia River views, and across the walkable road to private beach access. Relax in a natural sanctuary on the mighty Columbia River. This cozy single bedroom features a comfortable queen bed, queen-sized sofa bed, complete kitchen, and laundry. Wildlife abounds in our pristine area and only the soft notes of nesting geese and loons can be heard at night.
This recently-remodeled home sits separately from the main house and is a safe-haven: ideal for individuals, couples, or a small family in search of a private coastal vacation.
Inspired by the grove of red woods in the backyard, the house has a cozy, treehouse feel and a new 400 square-foot deck with a cozy nook to take in the view even when it's raining.
The living room has a new pull-out bed and the bedroom has a comfortable, new queen-sized mattress.
The kitchen is stocked with all necessary cookware and accessories, basic seasonings, coffee/tea, and has full-sized appliances.
Work from the River! We offer high-speed, fiber-optic Internet access.

Tranquil retreat on the banks of the Columbia River
We had a lovely and relaxing stay at this beautiful guesthouse. The hosts and accommodations were great. And the location and view of the Columbia River are spectacular.
Would stay there again without hesitation.
Pillar Rock is a great place to relax and soak in nature. The guesthouse had everything you need to enjoy the stay. The private beach was amazing. Holley and Lorenzo are the best hosts. Definitely planning to visit again.
This was such a wonderful property. It was so comfy and had all amenities for to make it perfect for a day adventuring and night resting watching the stars and the boats pass on the river from the views on the deck. The upgrades and decor was very well done and made it an enjoyable stay. Thank you!!
We had a wonderful time staying at this property. Each night we had a fire and had some deer friends come by which was so fun to watch. The host cut up extra firewood for us on our second night which was very kind as well.
We brought our bikes and biked to Duffy’s, a recommended Irish pub. The road in had very little cars and made for a very fun and slightly challenging bike ride! Highly recommend for a relaxing and secluded stay outside of town.
My grandson was in heaven watching ships. This property is along the river and in the country.
We were happy with the quiet evenings. Wish we had the time to spend another day or two.
The kitty's took to my grandson and he truly enjoyed hanging with them. Thank you for sharing your little place with us.
Superb. Great views of the Columbia River with many deer (3 pairs of fawns), eagles, osprey and of course ship t raffuc from small cruise ships to huge car and grain haulers. The unit is outfitted with everything we needed and the host and hostess very friendly. Great kitchen and comfortable bed. The front porch was great even on hot afternoons. Two cautions - it is 40 miles to either Astoria or Longview. 10 miles of that on a narrow twisty county road. The beach access and walk to the historic Pillar Rock Cannery is wonderful, but the walk to the beach is very steep. We will be returning next year for another monrh of relaxation.
We stayed at the Pillar Rock Retreat during the Strawberry Moon and it was the perfect place to get some stunning photos! Rest and relaxation were what we needed. Holley was gracious and super communicative. The guesthouse was very comfortable and perfect for us. Appreciated the dog towels and little touches like that. The deck is large with sunny and shaded areas with comfortable seating. We loved watching the different ships go by and looking on the cell phone app for all the interesting details regarding each ship. We hope to return in the future!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Pillar Rock Retreat Guesthouse! We didn’t want to leave. Holly and Lorenzo were kind, communicative, and provided every necessity and more. One of their cats who roams the property kept us company outside; very sweet! I personally really appreciated the vegan friendly hygiene and cleaning products provided. The views were spectacular! We took short walks along the wooded road and private beach, soaking up the fresh air and nature. In the evening the fire pit allowed us to enjoy s’mores and warmth. Couldn’t ask for much more. Highly recommend!
We had a wonderful two night stay. The description online matched our experience at this guesthouse. The guesthouse was clean, well organized, and put together well. We appreciated the personal touch from our hosts to complete our weekend. We will be coming again to this guesthouse.
What a wonderful little gem! The home was clean, inviting and very comfortable. The view of the river was amazing and the yard and deck had plenty of places to take it all in. It was evident the owners had put a lot of time and care into making this a relaxing getaway and covering of all the details. Everything exceeded expectations, and we had a wonderful stay.
Lovely remote area - the drive there was just as fun too. Lovely place to get away from people gor a while! The house was generously and thoughtfully well stocked too!
We really enjoyed our stay. It was so peaceful and secluded. The kids enjoyed playing at the beach, in the yard, and even in the home. The double hammock fit my husband and I comfortably and had an amazing view of the river. The home was clean and had everything we needed (even some extras). Plenty of linens and towels, dish and laundry soap, bathroom toiletries. The beds, including the sleeper sofa were comfortable. Just overall an amazing place to stay!
What a beautiful location, the view from the living room and porch is amazing, deer greeted us and kept us company, very secluded despite other vacation homes nearby. We were the only people on a June weekend at the beach.
The home was clean and cozy and well appointed. Holly replied promptly whenever we contacted her. We will go again!
This was such a lovely, relaxing getaway for us! The house was clean and cozy and had a gorgeous view of the river. We loved watching the boats go by, relaxing in the hammocks, walking down to the beach, and using the fire pit. Holley was communicative and welcoming! Would absolutely recommend.
Lorenzo & HolleyThank you so much for sharing your beautiful spot on the River. We really enjoyed meeting Lorenzo and your pup Maggie (hopefully, we’ll have the chance to meet Holley the next time we come). What an amazing place…. From the little hummingbirds to the gentle deer that stop by the yard every day. We also got to me Georgie boy the cat, he’d hop up on the porch for a visit every morning. Our must favorite part was watching the active ship traffic go by. From big cargo and car carrier ships to the passenger ships and fishing vessels. So entertaining to watch them glide past on the magnificent Columbia River. Again, thanks for sharing your awesome spot with us and our pup Vada (She really settled in and loved hanging out on the porch watching the world go by). Take care….. Chris & Loren
