Honestly, we were very disappointed in this hotel, especially after seeing such great reviews. We were told in an email to drive to the hotel and drop off our bags and the parking situation would be explained to us. Unfortunately there was no way to drive to the hotel because the bridge over the gorge is closed for repairs. The friendly staff at the tourist info office tried to phone the hotel but there was no reply (?) On theIr advice, we put our car in a public 24hr lot which cost 18euros. We walked to the hotel with our bags and when we got there, we were locked out. We knocked, banged, and finally had to trigger service on our phone ($10/day) just to get someone to let us in. Finally the one employee answered, apologizing, saying she wasn’t sure how the door got locked. She checked us in and then said our room was going to be very small and would we like to see a bigger room which had a view. Of course the reason we chose the hotel was the view! We felt pretty bedraggled and after seeing both rooms, chose the larger one. Then found out we had to pay $100 cash to cover the “upgrade” for the two nights. And the room....yes, it had that fabulous view, but very little else. No robe, no coffee maker, no ice, etc. And the style of furniture and furnishings was tacky. We found ourselves to be the only guests those two days and don’t understand why our room choice was so extreme. No one was on site at night, just a number to call. I guess we made an expensive mistake on this one!
