Nestled on a quiet beach with the most spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean, is this tropical home away from home. Enjoy tranquility with the exception of the waves crashing against the shore away from the usual sounds of the city. This piece of paradise is ideally located for the guest looking for pure comfort and relaxation at Exuma Point, located on the northern end of Great Exuma Island. One of the main features of this 700 square feet island-style cottage, is its spacious wooden deck overlooking the turquoise waters of the Atlantic Ocean. The wooden, winding steps, amidst the trees and natural fauna of the property, lead from the deck to a quiet, secluded beach. Imagine sunbathing, moon gazing, reading a book or relaxing with your favorite tropical drink in one of the comfortable patio lounge chairs. You may even want to prepare your meal for the day on the gas grill from this point of view. If dining in is your preference, a fully equipped kitchen with major appliances awaits you. Make yourself at home with a standard size Whirlpool cooking range, refrigerator and microwave oven; toaster oven, beverage blender and coffee maker; and a full complement of cookware, bakeware, dinnerware, drinking glasses and flatware. A stackable washer and dryer stored in its own room also complements the amenities of this modern cottage. Meals can be served at the four-seat, glass dinette table at the center of the open floor living space. If you need to unwind before turning in at the end of the day or simply just want to relax and watch a favorite television program, do so in the comfort of a sofa which also opens to a bed for an extra guest or a loveseat, and smart television. Stay in touch with family and friends or conduct business transactions via wireless internet connection provided. Before turning in for the night, rinse the sand from your feet and enjoy a warm shower in a spacious, glass enclosed shower. Complimentary soap and hair dryer are provided. End the night comfortably in a queen size bedroom, fully stocked with linen, bath and beach towels, ironing board and iron. Choose to leave curtains and blinds opened for an ocean view rest from your bed or drawn to block out the island's starry skies. After a restful night, plan a day of adventure with one of the many tour guides to visit the world renown swimming pigs and Thunderball Grotto, the undersea cave where the famous James Bond movie, Thunderball, was filmed. You must also include a visit to the tammed sharks, iguanas, turtles, undersea piano, and plane wrecks, just to name a few. Oh! a visit to one of the picturesque sand bars is also a must. While there, ensure your guide makes a bowl of fresh conch salad - an island favorite. Sophia and Don will be more than delighted to assist with tour guide recommendations and bookings. If you are not too tired to try the nightlife or prefer to dine away from the cottage, there are some restaurants and bars just a few minutes walk on the beach and a few minutes drive recommended. She was quick to resolve very minor issues (we are very understanding when something unexpected happens, it’s all about how it’s managed). If you’re looking to be close to stores and restaurants, this isn’t your place to stay. If you’re willing to plan ahead and do most of your meals at the house or eat early and get back during daylight when it’s easier to see the roads, this won’t bother you. It’s 100% worth it to sit on the beach in front of the house with nobody in sight. We loved the beach just around the corner from the house (a few people but definitely not crowded) and a slightly busier beach a short drive away. We preferred this end of the island to the busier side. This charming sea side home has every amenity you need to unwind and unplug. We spent our days sitting on the porch overlooking the ocean, swimming and snorkeling right out back or near the pier to the north. One recommendation is to buy groceries in town and plan on eating most of your meals at the property. Another is to rent a boat from Minn’s for the day and explore the islands. The deck and chairs are an added bonus for lounging when you need a break from the sand. The gas grill works perfectly. This cottage has all the comforts of home. Our first time to Exuma and we had great time. Sophia and Don were gracious hoist and would highly recommend this cottage to relax and enjoy the island. The view from your bed in the morning was incredible to drink your morning coffee and stare at the clear water and catamarans anchored out. The cottage was well equipped along with a gas grill which we used a lot. The bathroom and shower was large and had plenty of towels to accommodate. We can’t recommend ‘Point of View’ enough! We never wanted to leave! It was truly our own little bit of paradise! From the amazing views from the deck to the private beach area, from the beautiful and well equipped interior and comfy bed to the serene location… we couldn’t have wanted for more for our week’s stay on our honeymoon. We were so sad to leave! We have fallen in love with this island and recommend to any couples visiting to stay here. We kayaked off Exuma Point Beach and snorkelled and swam at Cocoplum beach & Hoopers Bay and saw sea turtles. We ate a lovely meal at Cocoplum Bistro and had drinks at Shoreline (amazing frozen rum drinks!). George Town is about half an hour away and there are plenty of supermarkets/convenience stores on route. It was a perfect location for us! A big thank you to Sophia for the stay. It was our first time in Exuma. Sophia was outstanding. This was the perfect time for my wife and I for the week. Everything we needed was there. We did a little bit of shopping for the week and had plenty of leftovers. The house is perfectly equipped and an awesome location if you want to get away from everything. Throughout the week, I think we saw a total of three people on a little private beach. It was the perfect beach area for just my wife and I. The water is absolutely gorgeous, the bed was very comfortable and the view was indescribable. The house is furnished perfectly. We will absolutely come here again. We rented a car as you will need one. This is a bit remote as you are about 40 minutes from Georgetown. We found a few little bars to hang out but we made drinks at the house and grilled out. It’s in a very secluded area that allows complete privacy! It’s about a 40 min drive into town but it’s not a bad drive at all since they repaved all the roads over the last few years.
