The place was attractive, but the pictures were obviously taken just after the cabin was either recently completed or cleaned. The front steps were very steep and had poison ivy growing under them. One branch was beginning to poke up through the top step. I would like to have had a more professional map to use to find the cabin. Also, google maps did not take me to the front office when I put in the address. I had to drive about a mile from where google told me I had arrived. The setting is worth it though. ##### David S. We are used to emails being sent with check in instructions and with a key code. This property is not like that. They will send you a pdf and you do not get a code. YOU HAVE TO GO TO THE OFFICE. Which is not a big deal just would have been nice to know that ahead of time. The house was decent but they do need to work on rodent control. There were cobwebs all over the place and there was a lot of mouse feces in the basement area where most of the bedrooms were. There were mouse feces in the covers of our friends matress. We live in the country and get it but just not great for when you go on vacation. Hot tub was a bummer. It was dated but after one day of use it smelled so bad! We could not even use it the rest of the stay. There were decent amount of dishes to use but we made sure to wash everything before use because of rodent issues. It was ok but not the nicest cabin we had ever stayed in for the price we paid. ##### Ronda O. They have a grill on the deck and a hot tub on the lower deck that were convenient for our stay. The kitchen had all the basics for our meal prep during our stay. The place was conviently located for hikes and close to the pizza place. The A/C was not working during our stay - we told them on the second day and they suggested we leave the windows open and brought over a big fan (it was super hot the days we stayed and the fan was not much help). The house had a lot of bugs (flying types, crawling types, and spiders) - we understand that there’s a higher chance to encounter bugs when staying in cabin type places - but it was much more than what we anticipated or have seen staying in other cabins in the area or in other parks. We ended up all staying on the second floor because we had encountered fewer bugs there. There were also a wasps nest and wasps flying around the hot tub. We did see a few mice traps with cheese - we didn’t see any mice though! The house description mentions something about suggesting a 4x4 to get to the property - it’s a good suggestion because the road is not paved and it could be difficult to drive through if it rains. ##### Carmen R. Was beautiful to sit in th morning and evening. The hot tub was great and very relaxing. The whole place was beautiful and spacious. We really enjoyed hanging out and talking and we especially appreciated no TV up stairs, made for more quality time. The bedroom upstairs is a spacious room with an exit to the porch, main living area and a bathroom (that does have a door leading to main area as well). There are 2 queen bedrooms downstairs and the bunk bed is set in the corner of the room downstairs in an open concept fashion with a little couch (loveseat) down stairs and TV. There is an air hockey table and a foozeball table (it had a screw loose so we set the loose screw on the table and didn't use it anymore due to it being wobbly) . There is a bathroom down stairs with a tub and shower combo (perfect for the kids). Side note if you are looking for spare towels they are in downstairs bathroom under sink....we found them last day of our stay lol) All in all this was such a perfect cabin for our group. The beds are comfortable. On site laundry is helpful. Game room is a lot of fun. Staff is friendly when checking in. The bad: called and messaged multiple times to request the direct address of the cabin and they wouldn’t provide that information. An email of the map would have been highly appreciated and isn’t too much to ask for in 2021\. Once we received the map from the home office, it was written in such bad cursive we struggled to understand it. The AC was was out for half of our stay. The owners did send out a company but I feel like preventive maintenance could have prevented how hot and uncomfortable we were the first night. Not enough cleaning supplies and trash bags were provided. Could provide very basic items like salt and pepper. ##### Chelsea A. The cabin was nicely build, stocked with basic essentials. We had a great time as a family there. We stayed for a week so we had to stop by the management office to ask for more toilet paper, dish soap etc as the house was stocked for maybe 2/3 days worth. Management office was very helpful. Pro’s: lots of space, windows, foosball, air hockey, wrap around porch with swing, grill, and fire pit. The only con was that the floor was dirty- if I walked barefoot, my feet were filthy, even right after a shower. We loved the hot tub located on the ground floor on the back patio overlooking the woods. The view would be better during the winter so you can see the gorge through the trees. The cabin was as pictured, and had pretty much everything you would need. I dinged one star on cleanliness because of some items left from previous renters found under the beds, and some dust/cobwebs. Honestly, the cleaning crew had a huge job before our check-in bc the prior renters evidently celebrated a birthday maybe a little too much. Beds were comfortable enough. Had plenty of towels for our stay. Bring extra garbage bags, toilet paper, paper towels and dishwasher detergent. They supply enough for a couple days. Also, bring laundry soap if you plan on doing laundry. I would definitely stay here again. Great value. ##### Heather A. This was the second VRBO rental that we have had in the Red River Gorge area and it was far from the best. Here's a few things that we were not prepared for... 1\. Mice running through the house and small ants in the kitchen. 2\. Owners board games are very old and had many missing pieces. 3\. Only one TV in the house...downstairs...and no DVD player 4\. My family decided to go on a last- minute road trip to kayak at The Gorge Underground, and this cabin was available with instant booking. It was just as described, and in a perfect location. The kitchen had everything we needed, and there was no shortage of things to do in and around the cabin. The cabin seemed mostly in good repair, although some of the furniture could use repair or replacing and the floors were a bit dirty. The beds were a little uncomfortable but not terrible (and the pillows helped make up for that). The living room furniture was super comfy. There was plenty of room for our family of 8 to spread out and play games, swing on the porch swing, or relax in the hot tub. The 2 bathrooms and washer and dryer were huge bonuses.
