Nice property but it’s very small, old could use a remodel. To start the futon (which is old and the leather is ripped was COVERED in sand. Cups were put away wet so mold was growing inside. The shower needs new sealant around the base mold has taken over the bottom, not to mention hair all over the shower so that obviously wasn’t cleaned either upon arrival. Old bed frame super squeaky, and Rickety. Vents on the walls were dusty. They leave gaps between the night stand and walls (so it doesn’t touch) but since you can see back there it is covered in dust and hair. Then the chain in the back of the toilet was broken so the toilet wasn’t flushing without you lifting the valve (in the water) in the back of the toilet. Was told maintenance guy was gonna show up and was never contacted about him coming in or if he even went the area property manager did say she went in the night before and it seemed that she fixed it. There was a sense of lack of communication, the manager for all the properties in that area also said that she would give me a compensation for the cleanliness of this property and never got back to me.

This little apartment is very old and needs maintenance. But at least it was clean and did not smell musty like many places on the coast.

The location was great and having our dog with us was great. The Shower was too small, the place on the whole was smaller than we expected and we thought it was a single cabin but is was like a duplex. So it was noisy in the evening. We thought there was a fenced yard and there was not. We also did not know it was a VRBO.

Not bad for one person.

Cute place, just right for one person. The mirror in the bathroom is hung so I can only see chin down (I’m only 5’8). The lights flicker a bit, though I’m not sure why. Maybe dependent on the power usage in other units? The bed feels like it’s going to fall apart soon, but I slept fine. All in all not bad, but not great.

Felt catfished

The place is a lot smaller than it looks. You walk in and you just automatically feel claustrophobic. The shower barely fits one person and the water just gets everywhere. There is no wifi at this unit and the signal here is very spotty and often doesn’t work. The couch and the bed both make noises anytime you move. Very uncomfortable and annoying. Did not enjoy being here at all. The curtains also don’t cover the windows very well so if somebody wanted too they could easily look into the place. The neighbors are all very close to the house and you can hear people talking or moving around or even walking behind the unit. We heard everytime someone used the restroom and could hear every conversation from behind us. :( Did not have the best weekend coming here and would not come back to this unit.

Smelly and home wasn't ready at check-in

We are very familiar with Rockaway - our families have been going there for decades. The place was cozy, but, it smelled really bad (pet urine? vomit?). The home wasn't ready upon check-in (4pm). We called and the housekeeper came right away. She said she would "clean it really quickly". I asked her to take her time and clean it thoroughly because it smelled really bad. Well, it still smelled the same when we finally were able to check in (5:30pm). Vacasa did follow up the next morning via phone call and email. I called them back to inform them of the terrible smell and to ensure they clean it for future guests so others don't experience that terrible smell.
