Kiran is one of the small villages in the old municipality of Roan and is open to the sea. To the east, the bay is protected by large mountains. Kiran is a good starting point for fjord fishing and there are opportunities to hire a boat nearby. There are also several salmon-bearing rivers in the area for those who want to try.
