Scenic and cozy
This house had everything we needed and more. There was ample space and comfortable seating and beds. I appreciated the supplies in the kitchen like measuring cups, whisk, baking pans etc… and the toys for the kids. The house is nestled within miles and miles of vineyards and there’s a lovely view of Lake Erie (10 mins away) which is enormous! We enjoyed the fire pit too. It was a very nice stay. Thank you!

Great Place
Thank You Wendy we had a great time.... This house was exactly as described very clean and well maintained. the property is very quiet and relaxing and the smell of the grape vineyard topped it off. Have already recommended this house to other friends and family and will definitely be back again

Great stay!
Great communication! Promptly set up our toddler bed the morning of our arrival. The place is a great old house with plenty of personal touches and well thought out amenities. Right in the middle of a vineyard, it has a great farmhouse atmosphere. Exactly what we were looking for.

Great weekend!
Property was very nice and well situated for a wine tour weekend. Older farm house but very clean and charming. Beautiful view of the lake. Only negative was having to figure out how to dispose of our garbage.

This was the first time using a home rental property, and we were thrilled with how everything went. We went in with low expectations and we’re completely surprised with how nice everything was. They even left us a welcoming basket with a loaf of homemade bread and grape jelly. We’ll definitely rent here again.

Exceptional Property and Stay
Many trips to this property and hopefully many many more. I can’t thank the host enough for the outstanding accommodations. If you are traveling to the Ripley/Chautauqua County Region this is the property to stay at or if it is booked try the other property (Concord Acres @ The Vineyard House) down the street which is equally exceptional and under the same ownership. Every time we visit we wish we never had to leave.

The Homestead house was delightful and spotless, very cozy. Suiting in the armchairs watching the lake and sky was extremely relaxing. The vines are king of magical and Wendy responded promptly. Looking forward to staying again!

Family fun at the north shore.
The house was just as described. Plenty of space for our two extended families to spread while spending lots of time together. Kitchen was well stocked. Plenty of areas outside to sit and relax. The only downfall was one bathroom but with some compromise we made it work. Wendy answered whenever I contacted her very quickly. Overall we had a great stay!

All About the View
I love old houses with lots of character and this one certainly fit the bill. The rooms were super comfortable with plush bedding. The air conditioning was comfortable even though we keep our house cooler. There were fans in the rooms. The bathroom was tight but serviceable. But that view! Incredible sunsets

Ripley 2022
We had a great time at this old farmhouse. Wendy and Art were lovely hosts, and the house was perfect for our needs. The house looks rather small from the outside, but don't be fooled -- the inside is spacious and clean. Hoping to return next year for the perfect sunsets overlooking Lake Erie and the vineyards. Thanks from John & Katherine and the kids.

Farmhouse retreat
Enjoyed the privacy. Property was nice and relaxing. Loved the porch. Take a bug zapper or spray. Many rules posted but nothing unreasonable. Bathtub while charming, is very high and difficult to get into and out of without falling. Not suggested if knee or back problems. It is not handicap friendly. Location worked well for our needs and easy access to 90. .

Old House on a Farm
Some might call this home an old farmhouse, but in reality it's more of an old house on a farm. Driving up to the house I got that, "OMG WHAT HAVE I DONE" feeling but while the outside could use a little face-lift the inside was roomy, clean, and comfortable and well stocked. While there was good internet there was no cable TV ( the TVs are roku/ smart so you can watch your own streaming services) but we just streamed the cable channels through our computers. We enjoyed a late fire in the pit while catching a pretty sunset. Would have liked a gas BBQ on the back deck ( there was a charcoal grill, but we didn't have any charcoal) ended up frying the steaks on the cooktop (no fan but did have a good smoke detector...lol) Will stay here again when passing through. The whole stay went very smoothly.

Hi Scott I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay. Just an FYI there is charcoal in the back enter room at the house for our guests use, sorry that you didn't find it. I know it's an old house, it is the original family (5 generations back) Home Stead. We are not able to get cable out here in this neck of the wood so we have opted for the smart TVs. I think gas grills would be a good choice for all of our rentals and certainly will be considered for the future. Again I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and hope we will see you again.

We enjoyed our stay at the Homestead. The house was clean and comfortable with all the things you need for a great stay! Close to the lake, wineries, horseback riding, hiking and more. We especially appreciated Wendy noticing it got unseasonably cool in the house overnight and turned off the A/C and turned on the heat remotely! Thank you. We hope to stay again.
