Fantastic Boutique Hotel
This boutique hotel was amazing! Centrally located, clean, old and refurbished in a classy way. The owner was fantastic, he goes out of his way to assist the guests. He provided great recommendations and directions on what to see and where to eat. This hotel was my favourite of all the places that I stayed in while in Ecuador. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is staying in Riobamba.

Stay here- it’s fabulous!
I stayed at Casa 1881 with friends for two nights. Our experience was most enjoyable. Santiago provided all the information we needed to make the best of our time in Riobamba. The rooms are lovely and very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and well presented. I would highly recommend staying here.

Owner present at all times, fluent English, gave practical advice, lovely 100 year old building, room with balcony & view of volcano on clear day. Nice breakfast, ask for cheese bread.

Hotel didn’t have our reservation. We were lucky they had available room. Room was clean and spacious with the large bathroom and modern shower. Negative: not enough shelf space for toiletries. The host was very nice and friendly. I attribute confusion with check-in to Expedia

Excellent hotel with excellent staff
I highly recommend Casa 1881. Both the room and the bathroom were spacious and clean. The location was convenient. The breakfast was high quality. The staff was incredibly helpful, even setting me up with an excellent guide for Chimborazo. And they spoke fluent English which was a relief for a weary American traveler with few Spanish skills. My only suggestion would be to get an interior room -- the city "view" is really just city facing which means it's noisy.

Best service in Ecuador!
We had a wonderful time at this beautiful hotel. The host manager of this hotel made our trip more memorable by giving us directions to everything we should see in the city. The breakfast was the best we had in Ecuador and included fresh fruits, eggs, toast, fresh juice and vegetables. We would definitely stay here again.

Best place in Ecuador
Beautiful building. I feel sorry for anyone visiting Riobamba that doesn't stay here. The rooms were amazing and the huge breakfast could last you all day. Santiago, the owner was a wealth of information and went out of his way to help. By far the best place we stayed in Ecuador.

Fantastic Hotel
The Hotel was fantastic, super accommodating staff. Breakfast was great also. Only confusion was that the Hotel administrator never received the reservation notice from Orbitz since he's never used the Orbitz system, but he still had a room and gave it to me for the same rate.

Me encantó.
Debo empezar diciendo que el lugar es hermoso, decorado en una mezcla de vintage con Star Wars muy linda y original. Santiago es un súper anfitrión y es muy engreidor (consentidor/que mima a sus clientes). Me encantó que fuera un lugar relativamente pequeño pero las habitaciones y todo está impecable de limpio. Ah! Sigan sus recomendaciones por si no saben dónde comer y él les dice, con mapa y todo. Un genio, Santiago! Gracias por todo.

Ideale Unterkunft für Riobamba
Casa1881 ist eine ideale Unterkunft, um Riobamba zu erkunden. Zentrale Lage, luxuriöse und makellos saubere Zimmer (unser Zimmer lag zum Innenhof und war deshalb absolut ruhig, was bei den Zimmern zur Straße natürlich nicht der Fall ist). Stefano, der Besitzer, bereitet ein unglaublich reichhaltiges und abwechslungsreiches Frühstück. WiFi ist perfekt. Auf Nachfrage kann er zu allen Aspekten eines gelungenen Aufenthaltes in Riobamba Hinweise geben. Die Taxifahrer, die er uns für Ausflüge zur Ruta de las Cascadas (Banos) und zum Chimborazo vermittelt hat, waren hervorragend. Casa1881 ist nicht billig, aber sein Geld uneingeschränkt wert.

Comfortable stay in old house in city center
perfect location in city center, we had the junior suite on ground floot which was comfortable and silent. Nice service and a very good breakfast (coffee machine!!)

Linda casa, excelente relación calidad-precio
Lo mejor de este hotel es la linda casa antigua con un ambiente muy acogedor. El dueño, muy hospitalario y presto a orientarte en tu estadía en Riobamba. Las habitaciones son cómodas y amplias, al igual que los baños, pero haría falta una pequeña repisa por encima del lavabo para poner los bolsos de y objetos de baño. La ubicación es muy buena, lo cual conlleva algo de ruido, pero eso es inevitable en el centro de una ciudad. En general, muy recomendable.

Eligelo si vas a Riobamba
Era mi primer viaje a Riobamba y lo elegí por los comentarios de otros clientes. Tenían mucha razón cuando lo calificaban de excelente. Está muy bien ubicado, la atención de los dueños es inmejorable (gracias Santiago por nuestra charla durante el desayuno), la decoración te traslada a una casa colonial, las habitaciones son grandes y qué decir de esa maravilla de cama gigante, precioso baño... y grande), algo poco común en muchos establecimientos de Ecuador), el desayuno impresionante... En fin, que volveré seguro.

reservierung wurde nie gecancelt! Wegen Sanierungsarbeiten war das Hotel geschlossen! Niemanden hat uns mitgeteilt dass das Hotel geschlossen ist, trotz eine bestätigte Reservierung

Von außen guter Eindruck
Als wir vor dem (vorab reservierten) Hotel standen erklärte man uns, dass es gerade renoviert werde und geschlossen sei. Wir hatten weder eine Info noch eine Stornierungsbenachrichtigung bekommen, wie sich herausstellte hatte das Hotel dies schlicht vergessen. Von außen machte das Hotel einen sehr schönen Eindruck, für uns war der Tag jedoch gelaufen, da wir aus der Not heraus in ein heruntergekommenes Hotel wechseln mussten.

ansprechendes Hotel in der Innenstadt
Superzimmer im EG - sweetähnlich! Noble Ausstatttung! Sehr aufmerksamer und netter Gastgeber. Hotelparkplatz in Kooperation in fast direkter Hotelnachbarschaft. Für uns war Riobamba die Startbasis für Alausi - Zugfahrt am Folgetag 08:00 h. Hat geklappt! PKW-Selbstfahrerzeit < 2 Std. Die Zugfahrt war eines der Höhepunkte unserer 3-Wochen-Rundreise in absoluter Eigenregie: 12 Hotels, alle Flüge, Mietauto von Hertz sowie 5 Tage-Galapagosaufenthalt.

A simpatia dos donos é o ponti alto, fazem você se sentir em casa. O quarto é um charme. Não pense duas vezes, se for para Riobamba fique na Casa 1881.
