Serenity in Sunny Arizona with tons of birds and shade trees! Bike Trail Galore

You can go to the wineries or the large gourmet market in Tubac. Do you want warm, sunny weather? The weather now is delightful for outdoor activities almost every day of the year. Enjoy this 1400 SF home on over .6 acre with lots of privacy! Furnished home with good Sealy Queen Size Mattress and new bedroom furniture and Ashley living room furniture in Master. Home has 2 bedrooms and 1 office/bedroom, 2 full bathrooms and outside patio with bird feeder and bird bath. There are 2 full bathrooms and ceilings are cathedral. There are 2 HD TV's--one in living room and one in the office and hooked up to satellite. TV. As of 8/26/18 there is a new internet booster receiver. The system is perfect for getting and receiving emails with pictures or small videos, podcasts from professional organizations, banking. Two people can use it at same time but not three or five simultaneously. It is good for findings on Google. It is not a system that is sufficient for commercial work such as formatting magazines or huge payrolls documents.
There is a dishwasher, range, microwave/grill, refrigerator, garage door opener, washer and dryer. The yard is fenced. It has four chairs and a table and the seating pads are new. The newly covered patio is new and blocks out direct sunlight in the heat of the day. There is a simple blue chair for another person if needed. It is a non-smoking unit and if someone wants to bring their dog, it must be over 2 years old and fixed and approved by the owner. Of course, you must pick up the poop and not have a dog who diggs.
There is the Tumacacori National Park and Historic Presideo State Park nearby. Birds and wildlife are abundant. In January through May and mid-September through December the weather is delightful for golfing & hiking! In March, there is an annual bicycle event on the rural street where the house is located. The mountain views are outstanding and Madera Canyon is less that 1/2 hour away. There is excellent dining in the area and the famous arts and crafts of Tubac. Fitness gym, beauty salon and nail salons are close by and they are wonderful! This is a great art haven with lots of artists! The local fitness center has a heated pool year around and that it nearly impossible to find anywhere else. If you are a biker, bring your wheels and helmet and enjoy the surroundings daily. Helmets are required here. Other bikers will share their favorite trails.
Fine dining can be found in the Esplendor Resort (Rio Rico Golf Resort) or the Tubac Golf Resort. Tubac Golf Resort has two fine restaurants in a western setting. Wisdoms offers a fine meal just south of Tubac and it is very fun. The bartender makes a wonderful margarita! The Tubac Inn offers wonderful pork dishes and there is almost always action there. Cowboys sometimes come on horses and stop to wet their thirsts. In Rio Rico where the Garrett's super market is located, there is Nick's Diner and an Italian restaurant that are both wonderful. There are over 10 golf courses nearby! Locally and Sycamore and Madera Canyons offer great birds and wildlife as well as the Santa Cruz River and the Anza Trail nearby (at Palo Parado) . Come and enjoy..
The vineyards are some of the best in the US and similar to southern France. Arizona. Vineyards is a popular roadside attraction in Nogales on the way to Mexico. Located less than one hour from the resort, the wines are unique and have classic Southwestern names such as Rattlesnake Red, Desert Dust and Coyote Red.
Callaghan Vineyards About an hour south of Tucson, the Callaghan Vineyards have been producing award-winning wines for over fifteen years. Owner Kent Callaghan aptly named his 17-acre vineyard “Buena Suerte” (or “Good Luck” in Spanish) and has won many kudos for his fine wines, including the highly-praised 1996 Fumé Blanc. The winery is open Callaghan Vineyards
Sonoita Vineyards Another winery near Mr. Callaghan’s establishment is the Sonoita Vineyards. Co-owner Dr. Gordon Dutt was a soil scientist at the University of Arizona when he and A. Blake Brophy established their first experimental vineyard in 1973. They found that the high altitude (5,000 feet) soil is nearly identical to the soils of Burgundy, France. The 20-acre vineyard now produces over 10,000 gallons per year. Their 1986 Cabernet Sauvignon had the distinction of being served at the White House.

One has a year around heated pool. The Anza Trail can be traveled nearby and this is an old Spanish trail north. The wild life is delightful. There were over 95 birds identified by birders who came in April 2014. There is a complete list in my traveler's book. Don't forget to visit the Tubac chamber on NE side of Tubac as it has extra things that come up weekly. Bring you hiking shoes and your sense of adventure and go on the de Anza trail commencing on Palo Parado Trail recently improved by the state. Venture west off the trail just a little and see the Santa Cruz River miandering along side the train where Juan Baptista and Fr Keno stopped to rest and let their horses drink the water and refresh. themselves. It is very relaxing and great for seeing birds and taking pictures. At the end of April, the park is going to lead people through a four miles hike along the de Anza Trail and provide a bus for those who don't want to hike both ways. It's pretty level and you will get the feel of how it would be for Juan Baptista (Spanish explorer) and Fr Keno using this trail years ago. Bring your camera and good closed toed shoes. Just a Note: We have a Tubac Fire Dept Ambulance with IEMTs, portable EKGs and a Medical Air Vac Helicopter two miles away. When I called them their ambulance came out and they were warming up the copter just in case I had to be air lifted. That's superior service and they connect you by 911. I have a medical alert system and it went off while I was working and they came out to see if I was OK. Holy Cross in Nogales is the best equipped hospital nearby, but Santa Cruz Regional is just getting more advanced things. Doctors are always available at Holy Cross and St Mary's in Tucson along with six other fine hospitals. Holy Cross reads X-rays and other scans by emailing it to a specialist and get immediate feedback from a radiologist. We also have dialysis center here too. Az Tax License: 21445832

Home was great and the host Maryann was very accommodating ....she went over and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and happy..... extremely sweet lady :)
This is a spacious home with a lot of natural light, mountain views, spectacular sunsets, amazing birds and peace! Also a great bathtub! We had a fantastic 6 weeks! We would love to return to this paradise.
This is a lovely property, set among rolling hills and desert, but on a lovely small street with neighbors. House is spacious, with wonderful light coming through windows in kitchen and living room. It is a real treat to sit and eat at the kitchen table and look out at the lovely view. Off of living room is the backyard patio, also with exquisite views. Living room has two couches to lay and read on, plus a comfortable chair and ottoman.
Kitchen is well-stocked with plenty of dishes, mugs, glasses, and silverware. Also there are plenty of bath towels and washcloths, toilet paper, etc,
The little street is easy to walk on with beautiful views; and within a short drive there are easy lovely hiking trails; as well as, a long paved walking path along a small road. We took an easy drive to Tubac and Tumacacori. So much to do and see; as well as a perfect house to relax in.
The property is as described. It is a little more remote then we thought, however, once we got our bearings we thoroughly enjoyed our time. The birds were fabulous, we didn’t realize we were in a prime location for bird watching. We purchased some suet at the bird store in Tubac at sat back a watched the action. If you are a bird enthusiast this is the place, one suggestion would be to have an Arizona Bird book available and a hummingbird feeder and seed available would be great! We also thoroughly enjoyed the pizza at the Del Rancho pizza place 5 min down the road! We also throughly enjoyed the Juan Barista Trail, which can be accessed at various points, including the trail just off the exit, Palo Parado. We didn’t find the community pool, although we didn’t ask about it, it would be helpful to have that info available. Tubac was wonderful, the Tubac Golf course was great and we had an amazing dining experience at Elvira’s, highly recommended. We would definitely return to this property.
Kitchen was fully equipped - needs new pots and pans. Front door mechanism needs replaced. Needs new window coverings. Loved the quiet country location. The outside needs cleaned up a bit. Appreciate that this property is pet friendly. Our hostess was communicative and available.
Enjoyed our 2 week stay at this nice house. Maryann was very helpful and communicated well. Easy to relax in this scenic country setting with many birds and wildlife.
The property was in an excellent location. There was a beautiful hike within 3 miles called the Anza trail. Madera canyon was not far and Patagonia hiking was awesome. The house and property was in an awesome location. Very clean and private. We were very happy with our stay.

The mountains are calling.
The two bedroom house was comfortable and well equipped. The views out the back were splendid and there is a lot to do in the area. We played golf, hiked, went to the Tumacacori mission National Monument and shopped around Tubac. You won't want to leave.
My husband, furbaby and I were very comfortable in Maryann's property. The home is well furnished and the master bed was very comfortable. The views are outstanding and we had a wonderful time taking walks and watching a variety of birds that visited the property.
Maryann is a wonderful hostess. She even brought us amazing blueberries.

Serene and warm in Southern Arizona
We are an older couple from northern Arizona who thoroughly enjoyed Maryann's handicapped accessible home. The home was spotless and bright and near great birding areas and restaurants. The climate was perfect. We appreciated the internet to keep in touch with our family, and the helpful landlady nearby. Without question, we will return for a longer stay in the near future!

We stayed here for 10 day...
We stayed here for 10 days in the fall. The house is new and very clean. The area provided plenty to do for us, golf, art, visits to Mexico, but coming back to the wildlife and peaceful scenery surrounding the house provided a perfect combination of an active and relaxing vaction. My only complaint is that there was no cable TV, however, we found all our favorite programs online using the provided high-speed internet. We would definitely stay here again.

2nd visit better than the first
We came back for another visit to this wonderful vacation home. We had a great time visiting Old Tucson, wineries, old missions, museums, and of coarse, the art. Again, the the place extremely peaceful and we loved the views. The house remained very clean and modern, there is also now TV for something to do at night when we were not looking at the impressive stars! We plan to return again sometime soon.

Tranquil House
My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights and we enjoyed the house immensely. It's very clean and spacious at such a good price. Maryann has thought of everything you will need for a relaxing
pleasant stay. It was very quiet and the weather is so amazing. We really enjoyed our time visiting
this part of Arizona. Maryann was so thoughtful and helpful in promptly returning some valuables to
us by courier that we forgot. Thanks so much Maryann!

Comfortable home
This home is so comfortable and quiet! We enjoyed the many birds at the feeder each day. Golf at Tubac resort is only 20 minutes away and is first rate! The day trip to Madera Canyon was beautiful with snow on the ground. Rio Rico provided all the services we needed and Tubac has great shopping and eating. Don't miss dining at Elvira's in Tubac a great experience. Thanks for sharing your home.
We enjoyed our stay and were very happy with the house and all it had to offer us. We spent time on the patio every day and enjoyed the incredible amount of bird activity! The views were outstanding and were everywhere you looked. Our dog also enjoyed the freedom of a fenced in yard ! The neighbors were wonderful-very friendly. Maryann was also great! Very helpful and informative. We enjoyed the location-very easy to get to wherever you wanted to go, but also out of the hubbub of lots of traffic and noise. We would not hesitate to stay here again!

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, location
Disliked: Listing accuracy

Advertised as having two queen beds in a room, two twins beds in a room and a queen bed in the master. But there was only two beds in the house. Cots do not counts as a twin or a queen bed!!!! Otherwise all was great!

Peaceful
We stayed for in May for 2 nights. The house was great - very nice and clean, well equipped, fenced in lot. Nice views of the Mountains. A nice drive to the propety on a good road, bringing you to the location. Out in the country, yet neighbors near by so you dont feel completely isolated. We set up our telescope and enjoyed the stars at night. During the day, we visited Tubac, Patagonia, Sonoita and the vineyards there. Had a nice lunch at the Velvet Elvis in Patagonia. I would definitely return and recommend. thanks MaryAnne!

Serenity?
Map needed to show mileage-it's 20 miles from town, few streetlights, not good night driving.House was very nice, owner very friendly but needed to be gently reminded we came for privacy-should not have scheduled repairman while we were there, nor shown up early am herself to do yard work, especially since she had a day or so's vacancy after us and before next guests. We gave up and left a day early.
So thankful that this property turned out to be exactly what we were looking for. We so much enjoyed being able to walk on the surrounding streets nearly void of traffic with our dogs. The house was comfortable and our host, MaryAnn did everything she could to make our stay enjoyable.
We had some amazing sunsets, along with some cows who came to visit and a coyote. Saw a bobcat and several roadrunners too. Rio Rico is a wonderful area full of wildlife.
I found a hummingbird feeder under the sink, made up some nectar and had hummingbirds drinking it within two hours. Many different varieties. A bird watchers mecca.
Thanks, MaryAnn for opening up this home to us.

Great setting and well equipped home
We stayed at this home for three days in early April. It is in a rural location actually southwest of Tumacacori. The scenery is beautiful and the home is well equipped in the kitchen and entertainment area. The bedding is good quality and comfortable. We slept well. We could not get the internet to work consistently. I believe that an upgrade may be required here. If you need wi fi,you can go online at the nice coffee shop in Tubac. One reviewer said that you are 30 minutes away from supplies but I found the drive to Tubac to be under 20 minutes depending on whether you take the Interstate or the service road. We always expect to drive a fair bit when we go to Tubac, and the drive is very pleasant. There is a good restaurant in Tumacacori and the spice factory is there as well.
Maryann lives nearby and is very hands on. She even filled the bird feeders for us. Her communication is excellent during the booking process and during your stay.

Quiet and peaceful, lovely mountain views.
Pros:
In a very quiet, peaceful area. Lovely mountain views. House is clean, everything in working order. Garage is very nice for your car. Maryann lives close by and is very attentive and responsive to any issues. Stars are beautiful at night. Close to HIGHWAY 19 which is the main route to Tucson, National parks and most places you need to go.
Cons:
You are out in the country. Driving 20 minutes on Highway 19, for groceries, gas or restaurants. The only real shopping is at least 30 minutes away in Green Valley, where the best grocery stores can be found. Carpeting and furniture are older and worn, I did not find the furniture very comfortable, which may be personal choice. Water is very hard. I ended up buying drinking water. The fenced yard has very large stone which my dogs had difficulty walking on and would not go out on except to toilet.
