That said, the location does come with a bit of a trade-off. It’s quite far from town and most excursions, so getting around requires some planning (and time). If you’re hoping to pop in and out easily, this might not be the most convenient option. The property itself is charming but the rooms are a little dated in terms of decor and overall feel. It didn’t take away from the experience though. The he only real disappointments was the pool, it’s quite small considering how large the property is, and it felt a bit underwhelming given the otherwise expansive setting. Also worth noting: be prepared for a workout! The hotel is built into the landscape, so there’s a lot of uphill walking. It adds to the unique character of the place, but definitely bring good shoes and be ready for some stairs and climbs. Overall, it’s a beautiful, peaceful escape with stunning surroundings—just go in knowing it’s a quiet offset resort from the more touristy area of Fortuna.
