This is a great location. We really enjoyed our stay. It was a short drive to lots of activities but far enough away from town to be quiet. Great place for a family. The host was quick to respond and was very pleasant.
The house is great! We loved our stay. The place is even better than the listing. Know that you’re not particularly close to any restaurants or stores but that wasn’t an issue for us. You’re close to the park entrance. The lot is peaceful and an amazing place to unwind after a long day of hiking.
We enjoyed our stay in this well kept home away from home. I always appreciate when there are games available to do with the kids, especially when it ends up raining.
We enjoyed our stay very much!! The place was clean and had everything we needed. My only suggestion would be to have the water pressure a little stronger. We would definitely stay here again if we were coming back to the area.
We enjoyed everything in our stay. The communication with our hosts was great. They gave good directions and tips to enjoy the area. We had access to a river, the lake was not too far and the hiking trails are beautiful
My boyfriend and I stayed here for a week and it was the perfect getaway stay. It was nice, quiet, and close to luray caverns and an hour drive to Shenandoah national park which we didn’t mind because the views were beautiful! The description of the house was accurate and the hosts checked in throughout the stay to make sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a quick stay nearby.
The cabin was very clean and everything was well organized. In the guest room, there are lots of different kinds of toys, which kept our 3 year old busy. The hosts responded promptly to all our queries, before and during our stay, which we appreciated.
The house was beautiful and well kept. The hosts provided everything we needed to enjoy our stay. They made everything easy including all of the information they provided.
Nice Quiet place. Has everything you need.good choose to have a relaxing time. I enjoyed with my friend and kids .will go back again different seasons. Host very kind .easy contact with any problems right way. Loved it
My husband, toddler and myself had a wonderful weekend at this cabin. It had all the amenities you could need and my daughter loved all the toys, games and bean bag chair. The house was easy to get to, cozy and very clean and so close to luray! My husband and I loved the master bedroom too, the bed was extremely comfortable! It’s perfect for a families traveling and is kid friendly. We definitely plan to stay again at this cabin next time we go back to luray. Great experience all around 😊
We were heading to VA for a conference and needed a kid-friendly place to stay for three nights. This place did not disappoint! Right near the Shenandoah River, it offers beautiful views just a short walk away. I was comfortable doing laundry and making easy meals for us and the kids appreciated the toys and games available. The owners went all out to make sure we had ease in entering and leaving and also thought of everything ahead of time. Beds were clean and comfortable and it was the perfect size for the 6 of us. We enjoyed a fun day at Luray Caverns and loved the close proximity. Thank you all for a lovely stay
I stayed here with my family.
Location was great - in a quiet private woodsy community (but not like a resort or suburb where you are close to other people, like a good combo of being far from neighbors but not alone in the woods). Close to the NP and Luray, two points of interest in our travels and not hard to find (even at night, when we arrived).
House itself is super cute.
Nice kitchen:dinning area (with a BIG table) and nice, easy appliances. Everything you need to cook meals.
Great downstairs spaces. There is a huge gomfy couch filled with pillows and lots of windows, all which could be opened to let in the lovely mountain air. The game area was the absolute high food my kids. Tons of games - leading to a family game night. We also had great weather so we enjoyed the front pitch, side deck and fire pit.
Upstairs had two lovely rooms. The primary bedroom was huge with a super comfy bed. The other room fit our children nicely and they enjoyed all of the toys in the drawers.
The hosts were super communicative and made a great guide book about the place god us to use.
We also took a nice walk to the river when we stayed.
If we find ourselves in this area again we’d definitely stay here!
My husband, our almost 3 year old daughter and I stayed at The Green House for 6 nights! In all of our time there, everything was exactly as it was listed and by far and away, our favorite place so far! The hosts; Kyle and SheRae, were absolutely wonderful with communication. We had a little bit of an issue with the thermostat the first night and Kyle stayed in excellent communication and was incredibly willing and helpful, to do all that needed to be done to solve the issue. The hosts were very informative as far as the area goes and how to get around. The house was completely stocked with literally anything we could've needed and felt more like our home away from home! If you have kids, the second bedroom upstairs has such a collection of toys, which kept our girls' attention and she was excited everyday to get up and play with "the Green House toys." From a bin full of My Little Ponies to a bin full of superheroes! Foam building blocks and wooden ones. Countless books and coloring! The bunk beds also have glow in the dark constellation blankets that were such a sweet touch for the kids room.
A couple things to be aware of! The water pressure is not spectacular but it does come in waves, so just hang in there. Also, if planning on visiting the river, water shoes are a MUST HAVE!
All in all, The Green House did not disappoint and we cannot wait to come back and visit again!
Thank you again for everything Kyle and SheRae. Our first family vacation was absolutely amazing
Kids loved it; it was so helpful to have an extra cot in the bunk bed room so they could all stay in there together. The interior decor was lovely. Location was great- central to all our activities.
Great property and communicative hosts. The firepit was nice for cooking dinner a couple nights. The master bed was very comfortable and the foosball table was a fun family activity. We would definitely stay there again if in the area.
My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Green River Home. Great cozy getaway cabin, driving distance or brief hike away from the river. Very quiet and tucked into a forested ridge with a nice small campfire spot. Everything was as listed and there was a detailed booklet telling everything about the cabin and local area.
