Cozy hotel right in the old town's centre.

Posted 18-Apr-2018
Nice hotel, close to everywhere , nice and friendly hotel staff, fine choice for breakfast , only one down side of our overall stay was that shower gel run out and no replacement, apart from that everything was good and I would recommend this hotel to friends and family , if we ever go back to Riga we will definitely consider to stay in the same hotel .

Central hotel for sightseeing

Posted 09-Apr-2018
Pros: Comfortable and warm. It was very cold outside (March)
Cons: The breakfast arrangements
Location: All attractions in the old town were readily accessible
Great hotel for access to all popular sights in the old town. Depending on room, could be quite noisy at night. The breakfast arrangements were interesting. Most mornings we had to share a table with other guests which was not an issue for us but some guests were not keen on this idea. The facilities were small and very cramped to serve the number of people arriving for breakfast. The food was adequate but not very interesting.

Cheap clean hotel in the heart of the Old Town

Posted 01-Apr-2018
Pros: Location. Clean Rooms.
Cons: Staff could be more friendly. Breakfast could be better organised - more hot drink machines, faster refill of self service buffet and more seating.
Perfect place to stay if visiting Riga for a few days. No frills, clean and basic rooms and self serve breakfast which was a bit of a bun-fight. Noisy neighbours spoilt one of the three nights I spent here. Staff were quite helpful but not overly so and they could smile more!

The hotel is old and not the most comfortable but the location is excellent and compensates for these shortcomings. Breakfast was delicious.

Super central hotel with spacious room

Posted 14-Feb-2018
The room is right in the old town making it really easy to get all of the main sights. The room was very large though a little dark. The hotel also includes a buffet for breakfast with a decent enough range of food; the staff were also all friendly and spoke good English. All in all the hotel was good, and we couldn't complain, especially as it was so cheap!

Essentially a hostel

Posted 17-Jan-2018 on Hotels
It's central but so are lots of places in Riga. The hotel took over 20 mins to find our booking, a different room was allocated to what was paid for and then we were sent to a building out the back. Am sure there are actual rooms in the hotel reception building but most of the rooms appear to be out tthe back. Not suitable for older travellers or those with mobility issues as there is no lift. It's an old convent so you could be left to traipse up & down 4 flights. The rooms were cold and convent basic. Standard hostel affair. There was a hob and fridge but zero utensils so the job was pointless. No kettle. There was a random packet of slippers in the Wardrobe, but no personal touches. Overall an expensive hostel. Breakfast is included but it's nothing special. There's a bar the Kwakinn across the road, good priced food and great beer. Konventa's fine if you want a hostel, but I wouldn't be recommending it.

Quite old building.

Posted 27-Dec-2017 on Hotels
The rooms were we were staying were old. The building had very old system for keys and no elevator for luggage. It took around 15 mins for the reception to check us in, although everything was prepaid and ready. Otherwise, location was good and staff were nice.

Great location right in the centre of the Old Town and within easy walking distance of everything. Comfortable and extremely clean rooms and public areas.
