"As a stop over point on a road trip the Maritime was good . Room was a decent size, the attached bar and restaurant had friendly staff and tasty food . The Inn is located across the road from a large supermarket, liquor store , two service stations , a McDonald’s etc so it is a very handy place to stay on a Road trip to restock your supplies ."

"A Birthday Stay to Remember! Our stay at Bras d’Or Lakes Inn was absolutely wonderful! We stayed first in a beautiful King Room, followed by the Lockmaster Quarters, which was truly spectacular. The room was beautiful, and the view of Bras d’Or Lake was breathtaking. When we arrived at the Lockmaster Quarters, we were so touched to find a bottle of champagne waiting for us, along with a beautiful birthday card signed by my family. Knowing that someone had personally gone out and purchased the card just for me made the gesture incredibly special. The strong winds made the hot tub a little cooler than expected, but it was still very manageable — and the view more than made up for it! Just before we left, we even had a beautiful deer visit us, which was the perfect goodbye. Everyone was wonderful, from check-in to the restaurant and throughout our stay. The warmth and personal touches truly made my 65th birthday celebration unforgettable. Their motto says it all: “Come as Guests, Stay as Friends, Return as Family.” We certainly will return as family! Thank you to everyone at Bras d’Or Lakes Inn for making turning 65 the best thing ever! ❤️"

"Very clean, had everything one would need. I'm more of a minimalist but that's an individuals taste. It was quiet which I was looking for. Wifi/phone is spotty, had to go outside to get a signal..not a big deal. love the walk to the water, the beach was lovely. Overall, I would definitely rent there again."

"Quaint, historic property with charm galore. Waterfront property with dock was spectacular, but shares lawn with another camper close by. Strong doggie odor throughout property, great for dog lovers, not so great for allergies: recommend new furnace filter and odor sanitizing. Lost power during our stay but super responsive host and a generator onsite within minutes. Lobster delivery (for a fee) was a plus!"

"Despite a gale force storm, and code orange emergency our stay here was lovely. Our host even stopped by to check in on us during the major power outage that effected much of the area. Our only regret is the wind and rain put a damper on our ability to explore the local area and culture. We can only image how great this area is when the skies are blue and the winds are calm. We will definitely be back to find out!"

"Absolutely wonderful property located centrally on the island. Gorgeous sunset views and quiet peaceful nights. It was so quiet we could hear the bees collecting pollen by from the deck. The house is extremely well equipped in the kitchen, especially! Everything you need except sheet pans. It's just like being at home. Beds were very comfortable. Also easily the cleanest property I've ever visited! Communication with the host was superb. The drive up the driveway does require a confident driver or a vehicle with all-wheel drive or maybe four-wheel drive, but it's completely worth it. The location is excellent! Bonus attraction was the squadron of hummingbirds visiting the feeder every morning, the host even supplied extra sugar water for refills! You won't be disappointed, we sure weren't!"

"Even better than described. Beautifully decorated & great view on the lake. Very relaxing & private patio. All you need for a great getaway! Nice place to come back to after a long drive to scenic places on either side of Cape Breton. Thanks Alexandra for building such a place. :)"
