Not what I expected.
While the setting of the cabin offered a unique getaway experience, there were several issues that impacted the overall stay. Firstly, the absence of cell service made it challenging to communicate with the property management, which was inconvenient. Upon arrival, we noticed a strong propane smell inside the cabin, raising concerns about safety. Additionally, the basketball court was not as advertised; it was cluttered with junk, and one of the hoops was broken, diminishing the recreational value of the amenities. We also encountered functional problems inside the cabin. The oven was inoperative which made it difficult to prepare meals. The barbecue grill was unusable due to a faulty ignition system. Given the price paid for our stay, these issues were quite disappointing and detracted from the overall experience. Despite these setbacks, we did enjoy aspects of our stay. The cabin’s location and the potential for a wonderful retreat were evident. However, attention to maintenance and accurate representation in the listing would significantly enhance the experience for future guests.

Filthiest, Worst place that I have ever stayed!
FILTHY! Urine on mattresses, doog poop on futon, FILTHY kithen. The walls are absolutely FILTHY. The hot tub was DISGUSTING and not usable. Blood and makeup on the towels, the basketball court should be condemned as the roof is leaking and caving in, the court floor is a hazard. No working oven, dirty sheets and bedding. SMELLED like death. The furnace is SO dirty and wasn't working. I have pictures of all of this.

Cool cabin but needs some work
Overall our stay was good but there was some issues with this cabin. Be aware that the heat in the main room does not work and the cabin is drafty so you have to use the wood stove to keep it warm and since it was very cold out during our stay it never really got warm. There was lots of wood which is good but no kindling, matches, or paper so that makes it hard to get the fire going. The dishwasher works but it doesn’t have heat or hot water so the dishes need to be washed before or they will not get clean. The stove has broken knobs which makes it hard to use and you have to be careful to turn off the gas properly. We had a great stay but lost power in the storm and there was no flashlights and only tea candles so that was challenging. The basketball court was cool but it has no heat and the backboard was broken at one end but we made it work.

Lil surprises
The place was very cute and cozy, there was a bad smell upon arrival in the main room i lit some candles, and there was trash on the walk way to the hot tub, also there is a mouse living in the down stairs bathroom. It left droppings on the towels. Overall it was a relaxing stay.

Fantastic House
We loved this house. We would definitely stay again. So close to the mountain activities plus it's cozy to stay in all day as well. The hot tub was a hit along with the basketball court with our kids. we ad everything we needed for some amazing memories :)

Fun at the cozy cabin
We enjoyed the Sharp Cabin. The cabin was cozy, clean, and well stocked. The kids especially enjoyed the bunk room and shop. The warm stove and hot tub were nice to come home to after a day of sledding. We look forward to coming back!

Lovely Cabin!
We rented this cabin for a week and it was terrific! Very clean and well stocked. The only issue was that the heater didn’t downstairs didn’t work in the living room or dining room. However, there was a wood stove and chopping wood wasn’t an issue. We stayed very cozy. Will definitely look to stay here again in the future!

Classic Mount Hood cabin with all the amenities!
Neat as a pin! This historic mountain cabin has the most beautiful lodge furniture in the living room and there is antique decor throughout. The large modern kitchen is equipped with everything you need to create your favorite family meals. There is a view of the stars from the hot tub. We enjoyed many conversations sitting out on the wrap around porch and taking in the nature around us! Our furry one loved the many walks to the zigzag river and there was even a basket filled with puppy paw towels for those walks after a Mountain rain. Such a warm and comfortable place we can’t wait to go back again!

Amazing stay
This was a perfect location! We celebrated our sons 18th birthday with some friends for a weekend on the mountain. The house had all the amenities and was close to Timberline. We will certainly book there again.

Cozy and fun
We had an issue where the keys to get in the house were not in the lock box. We had to wait outside for two hours before we could get in. Oven did not work but got it fixed. Other than that the place was great! Hot tub was good and the basketball court was great for the kids(a space heater in there would be nice). Would stay here again!

My girl's and I loved this house! It's in a very quiet neighborhood very low key. House was beautiful inside and out, it was everything that was on the pictures and more. We can't wait to stay here again.

The whole reason to rent a cabin is to have fun and not be right on top of your neighbors being told any noise after 10 and the police will be called sucks

Family reunion
I stayed with my two children and my parents for a week and we walked in the woods and skied, play games, horse in the sport court and used the hot tub a couple of times. We had everything we needed, the kitchen was well-stocked, and we relaxed and laughed and had a great time. The downstairs shower curtain rod was missing when we arrived but after a call to vacasa it was fixed within 24 hours. We had no other issues and the location and scenery is ideal.

Nice place, wish hot tub was working
We enjoyed our stay and the amenities provided, including the indoor basketball court. The house was clean. A rug by the door would help. Sadly there's no ping pong table as shown in some photos we saw, and the hot tub was broken. The cleaning person was still there at 4:00pm so we had to wait about 15 min to get in. Check out is a bit early at 10am. The roads in this area have large potholes so I'd recommend larger vehicles.

Great getaway
Overall great experience! We were disappointed the hot tub was not working while we were there, honestly, it was one of the reasons we selected this property. We ran out of propane as well, and we brought some steaks that had to get broiled instead, not terrible, but would have been better grilled. Those are small details though, and didn’t overshadow our great time here. Would return in a heartbeat!

The only complaint I have is that there was no response when I reached out about early check in/ late check out. The place was gorgeous, the woodwork was amazing, the layout was awesome and it was so much fun for the kids! The sink was not working properly but all together it was a comfy home and we enjoyed the stay.

Nightmare in the woods
It began when we entered the cabin. Right when you enter, the dog smell literally punches you in the face. There is a creepy feeling to the cabin, weird noises coming from everywhere, we took a walk to get some fresh air. When we returned, we decided to make some pizzas. When we turned the oven on the whole living room filled with a gas smell. We were worried there was a problem. Eventually it went away. After dinner we decided to play some games and the power flickered off and then back on and then completely off, now we are in the pitch black dark with nothing but our cellphones, we scramble around trying to find something to help us see, they left us a flashlight with dead batteries "BIG help" We had to get our stuff out in the pitch black dark with everyone freaking out. NOT a good experience, and they still charged me a cleaning fee! 🤬

Not what I was expecting
The pictures made this place look bright and cheery. It was the complete opposite. Very dark inside of the house and the surrounding neighbor's houses and entire neighborhood were down right unsettling. Dark, dirty, overgrown, and not a place where I felt comfortable staying. I just made sure that all doors were locked every night. Sadly, disappointing.

Nice house, good place to get away
Needed a few nights to quarantine elsewhere and this got the job done. Nice deck and hot tub. The backyard is very close proximity to another backyard and you’re basically hanging with the people next door if both outside. No problems for us but may not be for some people. The shop showed a ping pong table in the pics and we brought paddles/balls for the kids but no ping pong table. Enjoyed the stay and local hike on the river. Close to the store and other outdoor activities.

We enjoyed it very much!
We loved staying here! Just a few minor things to be aware of: it smells like dog downstairs, if that’s an issue for you. Also, the basketball court is extremely slippery. Don’t run full speed on it or else you could break an arm or leg possibly. Otherwise, great place to stay!! We loved it!

Great place if amenities were actually working/up to par
Though overall we had a lovely stay with friends, enjoyed the plush couches, ample deck space and close walk to the river, we did run into a number of amenities that weren’t working or up to par: There was no key in the lockbox upon arrival, so we had to call VRBO and use the housekeeping set for our stay. Thankfully, VRBO was responsive and helpful. There was no pin for the pump to air up the basketballs in the garage. We bought a new pin and after airing the basketballs up, realized they all had holes in them. Would’ve been nice to have working balls for the equipment available, as the hoop was a big selling point on renting this house. There was no propane in the bbq, no remote for the DVD player which was super frustrating when we wanted to watch movies with the kids. There were no batteries in the sega genesis controllers- we bought batteries and left them for the next folks. There was no forest pass as advertised, and lastly, kind of minor, but there was no foil or plastic wrap in the drawer designated for that. I should also note, the dog smell is pretty strong on the main floor. I know it’s a pet friendly place, but the smell was noticeable. We were surprised to have such a long list of frustrations, and if these amenities were working, our stay would’ve been more what we expected of this house. Would only stay again if we knew these things had been fixed.

Charming but Cold
We chose this cabin due to the rustic feel, close proximity to winter recreation, and sleeping accommodations. The cabin itself is very charming and conveniently located in a secluded neighborhood with easy access to the highway and nearby destinations. The heat was definitely an issue for us and because of that, I wouldn’t recommend booking this home until the problem has been resolved. It appears the heating and cooling system is controlled by NEST but it never seemed to warm up despite changing the settings. Luckily the cadet heaters in the room worked like a charm so as soon as it got dark, the group split up into their rooms just to keep warm. I wish I had paid more attention that this cabin only had one very small bathroom and that is a booking mistake on my part. I would keep that in mind though if your group or family plan on being somewhere at a certain time throughout the weekend and need to shower or use the bathroom prior to leaving. We really enjoyed our weekend despite feeling like icicles at night and would recommend once the heat issue has been addressed.

The Sharp cabin was a great place for a family with children!
This property is well represented in the HomeAway listing. The property and the furnishings are in top shape. The home is roomy and well designed. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you'll need. I would stay here again and I recommend it highly. I stayed in August, so I can't comment on the access during the winter. The local access roads are dirt roads and pretty narrow, with sharp corners. I don't think it would be easy to pull any sort of RV into the property.

Relaxing and peaceful!
We had a wonderful time relaxing at the cabin and in the hot tub. The river is so close and beautiful! There was everything we needed right there in the cabin! The only thing we suggest is screens in windows so we can keep them open without the bugs. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Very nice Cabin
We were very happy with our stay at the Sharp Cabin. We stayed three nights and they had everything we needed. It was clean and tidy. The bedrooms upstairs did get stuffy for sleeping. We ran the fans which helped. The last night was the worst, it would have been nice if the windows could be opened and had screens. I did think we were out of dishwasher soap so I called and they were very prompt in supplying it for us. When talking to the VASCA guy who brought the soap to us, I realized we had some that I had over looked. He was very kind and didn't mind that we had called. Sunday we did some hiking. We were very glad we hiked the RaomnaFalls, as it was very pretty. The Little Zigzag Falls hike was short but we enjoyed it as well. We also hiked the Hidden Lake trail and enjoyed it too. We ran into snow on this hike so it made it fun and different. The weather was beautiful the days we stayed! Monday we went over to the Multnomha Falls and hiked the loop between Multnomaha falls and Wahkeena Falls. We saw several waterfalls on this hike, it was gorgeous! We also went up to the Timberline Lodge. Pretty cool to see Mt. Hood up close. We loved Oregon. People would ask us why we chose Oregon for a vacation! Because it is beautiful! Thanks for making our vacation a great one!

Clean, Comfortable and affordable.
While staying here, everything was covered in snow and the neighborhood looks like a winter wonderland. We thoroughly enjoyed the cabin and our stay there. We will be back!

Relaxing Retreat
The property was clean, cozy and very well appointed. It had everything we needed for a relaxing thanksgiving retreat from the city life. We will probably try to use it again this summer and do some hiking in the area. The only small disadvantage was it only had one bathroom.

Great cabin
Cabin is great and very well kept. Lots of room for a big family. Big garage with a basketball hoop and ping pong. Bad encounter with a neighbor. We had just arrived and the neighbor came to the front door to request we turn the garage light off because it was shining in her house. VRBO rep came out right away to fix this. The neighbor came by again while we were making a fire out front in the fire pit. These encounters will make us rethink our return. The cabin is great, but the roads are busy and no access to the river makes it just another nice cabin in a busy neighborhood with nosey neighbors!

Awesome quiet cabin
The Sharp Cabin is an awesome quiet cabin tucked away near Mt. Hood Village. Also just a short walk away from the Zigzag river which is fun to explore and stretch your legs. During our stay we saw lots of salmon in the river, pretty cool. Will definitely come back and would book this cabin again.

Perfect Family Getaway
We absolutely loved this cabin! The minute we all walked through the front door, we all felt at home. There were 7 of us total (6 Adults, 1 child) with a dog. The open area living space right as you walk in was where we spent most of our time when we were at the cabin. It was so cozy with the charming décor and wood stove that we kept the wood burning in. Sleeping was so comfortable. We especially loved the kitchen. There was plenty of room for those of us cooking the meals to move around and not be in each other's way. We were reasonably close to Government Camp so we rented showshoes in Rhododendron and went for a beautiful snowy hike on one of trails at the Summit SnoPark and the next day my nephew and sister went snow tubing. Our last evening, to have one last adventure, we all put on head lamps and went Sasquatch hunting along the road towards the river that was close by (essentially an evening stroll). There was a car that drove by us, hopefully they didn't think we were too crazy? Everything about our time at this cabin was exceptional. We decided to make this an annual family adventure and we can't wait to come back!!!!!

Cozy cabin with big play space
My daughter and I had a blast playing basketball in the garage. Hot tub was nice. Back yard needs landscaping. Great cabin for playing board games or reading on rainy day. Owner supplied firewood was a huge plus.
