Family vacation
Our stay with Jim and Kathy was fantastic! The cabin was super clean and well stocked with all the essentials. If we needed something, town was 5 minutes away. If you're looking for a quiet place to forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life this is it!

Perfect. Just perfect.
This was the 14th trip to Boulder Junction for me and my sister, and our absolute favorite. Firstly, the pictures do not do this gem justice. The living area was airy and inviting with a number of (very) recent improvements. The resort itself is intimate, located at the very end of the road. Our hosts provided several kayaks and a canoe which we used often to explore some of the numerous campgrounds dotted along Fishtrap Lake and the adjacent river. And the fishing—wow. We caught numerous bass, perch, panfish from the pier, even saw a large northern swim by. Tons of action for everyone at all skill levels. In the true Northwoods fashion, there are no TV’s but plenty of games. It was exactly what we were looking for and enjoyed night after night of quality family time with my adult nephew. Dusk was a fantastic time to enjoy regular deer sightings too, including albino deer. A very special experience for first timers and veterans alike. Of course, Jim and Kathy are the very heartbeat of Eagle’s Post. They are warm and friendly hosts available as little or much as you’d like, and made our experience a resounding 5-star. We look forward to planning our return.

Cute cabin close to Boulder Junction!
Jim & Kathy were great hosts & we were happy to have shelter on the rainy days, as our relatives were camping at Upper Grisham Lake. We appreciated having a heater to use a couple nights & then A/C the next day…only in WI! The cabin now has a vaulted ceiling in the living area, so it’s even nicer, then the pictures show, but still has the cabin charm!

Awesome backwoods experience
I really enjoyed my stay at Eagle Post, and already miss it! If you're looking for a true northern woods experience, this is absolutely it. If you are looking for luxury, this is not it. The property description is very accurate, just know what you want. I arrived via boat, and the host met me on the dock. The check-in took very little time. I'm going to outline some things you want/need to know, and the things that would/will bring me back. Things to know: - This year they allow pets. Next year they do not. - There is no central heat. There is a wood stove and a propane stand-alone heater. The heater worked for our 40's degree mornings. - The bedrooms are SMALL. We slept in 2, and used the third as our walk-in closet. This arrangement worked for us. - The fire pit, grill, and boats are shared with the other cabins. This wasn't a problem for us as we didn't use them. The other guests staying there, Mike and Jen, were awesome, and we were buddies by the end of the stay. - If you're bringing your own boat, think about your options. The only public boat launch is on High Lake, the other side. There is a culvert in between the two lakes that was a tight squeeze for our rental. I was able to navigate it fine. - The wifi was decent some times, and non-existent at others, mostly at night and in the back bedrooms. That's not why we stayed here, so no worries! Things I liked: - Lake views! - Albino/white fawn that walked through the camp! - Host hospitality. Available yet never intrusive. - The true back-woods cabin feel, smell, etc.. LOVE IT! - Ability to dock our rental fishing boat so we could go out at any time - The cabin had just about everything we needed. None of it was premium, but I didn't care. There was even a Keurig coffee maker! - They allowed pets. That changes next year, sadly. - Easy access to Boulder Junction. - Decent fishing lake. We caught a lot of bass and pan fish, but nothing huge. It was fun, however, and there are bigger fish to be had. - If you're into fishing, consider using a kayak to fish the river just to the east. I did not, but I will next time I visit. It is suppose to have low fishing pressure and some excellent bass etc.. I REALLY wish they allowed pets next year. I'd book again, now. That being said, I will consider coming back with buddies for the fishing. I can recommend Eagle Post without reservation!

Relax at the Lake
The cozy cabin was perfect for the two of us. We had everything we needed to enjoy some time relaxing, fishing, fishing and fishing. We saw the beautiful sunset and sunrise each day. The sounds of nature were amazing as well. Jim and Kathy were available for any questions or just to chat. They were very kind and accommodating.

Outstanding experience!
We are only able to get to the Northwoods one week a year. We rely heavily on the description of the property we chose and hope that it's mostly correct. This property was exactly as described. The check in process was amazing. We rarely interact with the property owners. Kathy greeted us as soon as we pulled up. She gave us a tour of the cabin and made sure that we knew that she, her husband Jim or their daughter would always be available. Jim responded to my questions very quickly. We had the fortune of sharing the area with a great family which was a real bonus. We did everything we wanted to during the week and had a great time doing it. It was really a great experience and we are grateful to Jim and Kathy for their hospitality.

Great Vacation Week at Eagles Post
We highly recommend staying at Eagles Post. Jim and Kathy are wonderful people and were very accommodating to our needs. There were a lot of activity options - canoeing, kayaking, pontoon boat, swimming at the sand bar, corn hole, and more. Of course, lots of fishing as well and Jim gave us some great insights on the best places to fish. Great fire pit too! The accommodations are just as described. Everything was clean. Kitchen had all the basics. Nicely furnished. A true north woods feel, and conveniently located close to Boulder Junction. We would definitely stay here again.
