Wonderful experience.
My family had an excellent experience staying in the guest house. The overall look and functionality made our experience extremely comfortable. The hosts were available and very friendly. We had an amazing time celebrating New Year’s Eve mostly due to the very charming neighborhood we were fortunate to be a part of for a few days.

Great cozy comfortable stay!
This guest house was tucked away in a great safe neighborhood. It was convenient to downtown Reykjavik and right on a gray walking/bike path. The hosts were so friendly and helpful! I will definitely return!

Wonderful place to stay in Reykjavik
My wife and I loved this comfortable and private guesthouse. Located near a coastal walking path and a short drive to the center of Reyjavik, it was a great base for exploring nearby parts of Iceland. The guesthouse had everything we needed and we would be delighted to stay there again. Highly recommended!

The property was very clean and in a nice neighborhood. We spent 2 nights & everything we needed was there. There are several grocery store in close proximity. This was perfect for getting stuff for breakfasts & snacks. The bus station is right around the corner if you want to go into town for dinner and drinks. The owner was very helpful in providing info on the buses. It was a great first visit to reykjavik & iceland. We'll need to plan another visit to see more.

Reykjavik Trip
We highly recommend this apartment. It’s in a great neighborhood near the ocean and only a mile from downtown Reykjavik. Perfect unit for up to 4 people. Easy parking is a big plus.

This guesthouse was perfect for us!
We had the trip of a lifetime to Iceland and loved the guesthouse! The owner was wonderful and the property had everything we needed. We brought our two daughters (ages 7 & 9) and had more than enough space. The bed in the living room was very comfortable (not like a normal pull-out bed) and the master bedroom was large. The short walk to the ocean was great with a wonderful walking/running/biking path. We went down almost every day after touring the city/country and really enjoyed that. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you, Gudrin!

The guesthouse is even more beautiful than the picture! The owner is responsive and provided great recommendations for a thermal swimming pool (w/ nice slide for kids) and dinner. The house has a basic kitchen, fridge, and washer/dryer which was helpful. It was a 10 minute drive to central Reykjavik and groceries, convenient for the golden circle, and near the domestic airport and flybus station to KEF. The house is a tight space for 4 but roomier than most European houses and hotels we stayed in. Nice touch of a lit candle on our arrival, which was late in the evening after the blue lagoon. A great stay!

Wonderful property that is clean and spacious and close to coast and city
We loved this property. It feels so clean and spacious, so it is a wonderful place to relax after a busy day. It is a quick 5-7 minute drive to the city center and an easy walk to the ocean. There are 2 pool/hot springs in the neighborhood and grocery stores and a movie theater. My husband, myself and our 2 teens felt very comfortable. Iceland is very expensive if you eat out all the time, so we found it saved lots of $ to go to the nearby Bonus grocery store and cook most breakfasts and dinners. There is a washing machine and everything would dry overnight on the drying rack. This house was a quiet oasis to return to after busy days and yet close to everything when we did want to head out. I have already recommended the property to other friends.

Perfect location for day trips.
The guesthouse had everything you need. We cooked most of our meals and everything we needed was there. I had to guess how to use the oven because I'm unfamiliar with Icelandic appliances. There is a washer/dryer but I never did figure out how to use it. Who wants to do laundry on vacation anyway. The information that Gudrun provided was very helpful. The great thing about the guesthouse was that it was very private so we could come and go at all hours without (hopefully) disturbing anyone. The guesthouse was warm and cozy and couldn't have been better. I will be returning. Thanks Gudrun.

Quiet and Clean

A beautiful property a few steps away from the sea
The property was ultra clean, nicely decorated and ample room for a family of four with 2 teenage boys....the quilts were so warm and snuggly!. It is about half hour walk to the town, but a stones throw to the sea and beautiful views. We were extremely unlucky with the weather, with snow storms for 2 days (February) but our hosts were very kind in offering us lifts into town and to the other attractions nearby, outdoor thermal swimming pools. There is a very tasty burger bar just on the corner near the property and a small supermarket about 15 mins away. The bus stop is at the top of the road, easy to get into Reykjavik if you don’t fancy walking, and our airport transfer dropped us st the domestic airport about 15 mins walk away......most trips will pick up there too. In summary, would highly recommend for a family spending several days sightseeing

Lovely Guesthouse in Reykjavik
Gudrun was very accommodating and provided everything we needed for our stay. The guesthouse is furnished with a great kitchen, kingsize bed and large space. Quiet location, provides a relaxed stay and is close to everything. I would stay again and recommend to anyone traveling to Reykjavik.

Perfect place for a week in Iceland!
This was our first experience using HomeAway and found that Gudrun's property fit our needs perfectly for the week we stayed here...it was the perfect size for a couple, very homey and comfortable - close to downtown yet far enough away that it was very quiet and peaceful (even saw the northern lights one night over the guesthouse). It was a great home base for our day trips throughout Iceland. We loved being able to have the flexibility to cook at home as eating out was expensive. It was well equipped with plates/cups/few pots/frying pan and utensils...there's a coffee pot as well as tea pot. Small fridge and stove/oven. There were basic spices, oils and other odds and ends in the drawers. You do need to buy paper products. The wi-fi worked great. We stayed in one snowy/windy night and watched Netflix on our laptop (no tv) with no buffering. There is a washing machine (and detergent on shelf above) - and a drying rack (no dryer) which came in handy during the week. We didn't really see/talk with Gudrun as we were always out but she had left a list of recommendations re: grocery stores, take away restaurants, swimming pools... We would definitely book this property should we visit Iceland again. Thank you Gudrun!

Lovely Guesthouse Well Situated
I wish we had stayed just a few days longer. The house was well situated, very comfortable, private, and well equipped. The King Size well was great. The surrounding area was safe for walks, and an easy drive from the airport. The only thing we missed were the Northern Lights. We missed them by one day - hopefully we will see them on our next trip. Thank you.

Gundrun was a wonderful host and gave us some great tips on where to shop, and to check it the swimming pool. The Guesthouse is close to a bus line that beings you right downtown. If a person likes to walk, downtown is about 1.5 miles away. We walked it almost everyday and then took the bus home. Also there is small cafe that serves excellent food about 2 blocks from the place, plus it was the cheapest place to eat out. The bed is very comfortable and the washer cleans the clothes well. There is no dryer but there is a drying rack. My clothes easily dried within a couple of hours. Also Gundrun offered her dryer if we needed it. There is no TV so make sure to bring your laptop or whatever device you use. I watched Nerflixs. Hulu didn't work I would've needed to use a European version. Internet connection is excellent. It was a wonderful place and very comfortable. 5 stars all the way!

Perfect for a family of four!
Our family of four loved staying here! As others have mentioned, Gudrun and David are very friendly and helpful, the house is private, and it's really convenient to have a self-contained space. We also really loved being so close to the seafront and in a quiet (very nice) neighborhood. As Iceland is expensive, self-catering here is a great option: we enjoyed our coffee and meals on the patio, and having a pleasant "home" makes it less urgent to get going first thing in the morning. We had a car ($370 for 4/5 days), so we drove into town in 5 minutes (max) and parked at Tradarkot in town -- cheap and easy. There are supermarkets, liquor stores, coffee shops, and thermal pools within a few minutes' drive, too. Reykjavik's center is beautiful and compact. Be sure to try Microbar and Mikkeller and Friends, as well as Braud & Co. We would definitely stay here again!

Very nice
Very nice accommodations located by the domestic airport. Loved the walking and bike path that is so close by. We prefer to be just a bit out of downtown rather than right in the town and this was perfect for us. We also prefer to have our own kitchen facilities and this unit is perfect. Having a washing machine was a bonus. We were two couples and truthfully this is better for one adult couple and some children but other than that everything was great and the hosts are very responsive and friendly.

Our family of 4 stayed 3 nights in this guesthouse. We arrived very late at night, there was a parking space for us in the driveway, the keys were in the door and everything was perfectly set up. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had all the essentials we needed. The guesthouse is spacious and the washing machine is a big plus. For those who frequent VRBO rentals. This is one that supplies dish soap, laundry and hand soap at the sink, along with some basic kitchen supplies like salt/pepper, olive oil and vinegar. I always find these basic very helpful. Bring napkins/paper towels. Highly recommend this guesthouse. Thank you..

Stunning, well equipped, plenty of space and well located
We had a great time at Gudrun's guesthouse - a self contained property which is spacious but cosy with plenty of light (in March time anyway!). We went self catering as we were on a budget and the kitchen and dining/ living areas of the guest house were both great so both our time out and about in the beautiful landscapes/ in town and our time in the guesthouse were both really enjoyable :) We had nice weather so walked into Reykjavic most days but if it had have been more tricky weather there is also a bus stop really near by which takes you downtown on the no. 12 in no time at all so this place is really well located. We loved it!

Modern, clean, perfect location!!
We stayed at this little guest house for a winter short break. Our flight arrived in the middle of night and the helpful owners David and Gudrun had it all ready for us, which was much appreciated with two tired teenagers. The home was surprising bright with modern furnishing. It had everything we needed. David and Gudrun could not have been more helpful. They went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. It's located in a quiet street and 2 minutes walk to a coastal path which makes a lovely evening stroll. Five minute drive to the centre of Reykjavik or you can walk it. There's ample parking. We would definitely recommend a stay here.

Great accomodation, out of the way location
Accomodation was clean and very stylish. Located right next to the beach and a lovely walking path. Quite a bit out of Reykjavik, min 40mins walking and 25mins walk to closest pick up point for tours. Better suited to 2 guests than 5. Final bed was a cot and not enough played and cutlery for more than 2 people. Kitchen is basically equipped would be nice if some tea or coffee was available. Accomodation always warm. No supermarket near by, one restaurant within walking distance. Host was reliable at replying and no real issues throughout our stay.

Great Stay
This was our first VRBO experience and we were very happy with how everything worked out. Gudrun was excellent to work with and was very patient answering all the questions I had leading up to our stay. We found the house to be well equipped with everything one would need for a short or long stay, the bed was comfortable, the shower was hot with good pressure (it did have a slight sulfur smell which I understand is common in Iceland) and the kitchen and living area were a good size. The property is a short walk to the water and about a 5 minute bike ride downtown. Gudrun lent us 2 bikes and we used them most evenings...Reykjavik has lots of good bike trails if you enjoy cycling. We really enjoyed our stay and while we don't normally go to the same place twice, if we did go back to Reykjavik, we would definitely stay here.

Feels like at home...
This is a lovely and quiet apartment - although near the regional airport (max. 5 flights a day). Very modern style and a cosy bed, the kitchen is fully equipped, the bathroom is small but even has a washing machine. Gudrun and David are great hosts who even gave us their bicycles for riding into town which is a 15 min walk or a 5 min ride. The sea is very near, so joggers are happy to run along the seaside. We will choose this place when returning to Reykjavik. Thanks.

Great Apartment
My family and I (3 of us) stayed for 6 nights. We toured Reykjavik, the golden circle and as far along the south coast as Vik. The space is a very clean, modern and practical apartment (David, one of the owners is an architect and he designed it). It is a little away from the centre of Reykjavik (nothing is really far) but about a 3 minute walk to the ocean. We enjoyed it thoroughly. Gudrun and David were very accommodating to us. We found Iceland in general to be very relaxed and quiet. This place was that. It has a large bed in the master bedroom and a day bed in the living space. There is sofa and chairs in the sitting area and a small patio. The kitchen is fairly spacious and functional.

Cozy location with a great host
The guesthouse was warm and cozy and did not leave any wish open. The bed was a dream, we slept very well. Also the kitchen was very well equipped and we used it frequently to prepare meals. The landlord Gudrun- Eva is a nice lady who helped us to prepare our stay, she was always available when we had questions, she made us feel very welcomed. We also liked the quiet surrounding and the close proximity to the sea, and are already looking for the next occasion to come back!
