But, there was good light with a rooftop and sky view. Staff is pleasant and very helpful. The bed was comfortable and the location was very good for getting to lots of attractions. The church was built on the site of a small medieval chapel, known as a pilgrimage site for people with eye diseases. The construction of the temple lasted from 1904 to 1959. The eclectic-style Miguel Ventura Terra project combines neo-romanticism, neo-Gothic and Byzantine architecture. It is generally accepted that the architect was inspired by the forms of the Sacre Coeur Basilica in Paris. To the foot of the church at a height of 195 meters above sea level there is a line of a funicular built in 1923. Tourists can take the elevator to the observation deck under the very dome of the church. A panoramic view of the Lima River valley, mountains and the Atlantic Ocean opens from the platform.
