This charming cottage is just steps from the calm waters of Panther Pond in Raymond, Maine, offering a peaceful retreat surrounded by woods. Rustic yet well maintained, it delivers a true Maine vacation experience, with stunning waterfront views and easy pond access only 26 feet from the doorstep. Start your mornings with coffee on the deck or dock as the sun rises over the water, spend the day paddling in the included canoe or kayaks, and end it listening to the loons echo across the lake — all in total privacy and tranquility. For outings beyond the pond, nearby Windham offers shopping, restaurants, and activities, making it easy to explore before returning to your serene lakeside escape.

Inside, the cottage comfortably sleeps five guests, with space for two additional overnight guests for short stays. Fans and portable A/C units keep the space comfortable, while a fully equipped kitchen, washer (added 2026), WiFi, and TV provide modern conveniences. Outdoors, relax on the deck, enjoy meals at the picnic table, or take in the scenery from the dock. Dogs are welcome, making this the perfect spot for a family or small group seeking a true Maine lakeside escape.

House on the lake

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house itself was very nice. The location and room are excellent. It is a really nice place for a small family.Unfortunately, the house doesn't come with linen,no washer, NO AC. the owner of the property lives next door. It was odd and a bit weird to have the owner come by the property and check on you. While staying at the property, we had tikki torches to get rid of the mosquitos. The owner and wife or daughter walked uninvited to the property and told us it was a hazard. I felt they were always looking at us. We have family in town and they visited us a few times. The owner actively looking around to check on who was there. At one point, I considered moving out and check-in at a hotel.I will absolutely not recommend this property.If you want privacy find other place. There are other places that will offer you the vacation feeling, not a feeling of being watch.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This cabin on Panther Pond was a perfect fit for our family of four. Our priorities were being right on the lake and in the Raymond / Gray area - proximity to The Mosquito for ice cream was a bonus! The cabin was cozy and comfortable; the swimming area clean and clear. Highly recommend taking a paddle up the Tenny River to Crescent Lake!

The dock was in excellent shape and looked like it was recently replaced. The only issue was low pressure in the kitchen sink.Otherwise it was a great vaction.
