Hafkey Cabin Escape 2 near Yosemite National Park in the Sierra Foothills

Our family cabin is located in the small historic town of Raymond, CA, in the heart of the Sierra foothills, 39.2 miles from the southern entrance of Yosemite National Park. This new cabin features modern conveniences with a rustic feel. Experience breathtaking views, beautiful sunsets, hiking, a seasonal creek, an abundance of wildlife, and incredible rock formations to explore. If you are looking for tranquility, this is it!

Our modern 1280 sq. ft. cabin features 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, an open loft, a large deck, a fire pit, a fully supplied kitchen, laundry, and an open living room and dining room area. We have central air conditioning and heating, but also a fireplace for cozy ambiance. There are three queen beds and two floor sleeping mats to accommodate up to eight guests. High speed Internet is, of course, the icing on the cake.

Raymond hasn't changed much in over 100 years. Although fires have taken many of its historical buildings over the decades, the town still maintains a General Store from the 1890's and an old saloon called the Frontier Inn Tavern. It's run by a retired firefighter and features $2.50 draft beer in an ice-cold 18oz mug with a big green olive! Also nearby are fantastic museums, wineries, breweries, trail heads, parks, and lakes. Giant Sequoias are within an hour's drive. San Francisco, Sacramento, and NAPA Valley are about 2 1/2 hours away.

A special place
I love this place as I spent my childhood nearby. It is now perfect for family visits. A beautiful house, I dare not call it a cabin, very well appointed, has everything we needed. The views, close up and extended, are terrific. I loved the cows, turkeys and noise of the coyotes. Close to town, but very private. I highly recommend to anyone. We visited Eastman Lake, gorgeous.

Fantastic place in Sierra foothills!
The Hafkey cabin is a great place to stay with expansive views of rolling hills and oak trees. The cabin is new and has all you need for a serene place to visit with a great deck to listen to coyotes yelping in the distance and owls calling. It doesn’t get much better than this. Property owners were very helpful and easy to communicate with. Highly recommend and hope to get back there again!

Great family getaway
My siblings and I rented this cabin to be near Yosemite and we also were near the lake of the town we stayed in. Ended up having a lake day recommended by the cabin owners, and it was a great time! The cabin is nice and open, plenty of space for up to eight people. Just wished we had remembered to pack an air mattress to set up in the loft, as one can fit up there easily to fit more people. There are two sleeping bags and we definitely used those though. There is a washer and dryer too. That came in handy as well, as one might expect from doing various outdoor activities each day. Bring extra big pot or pan if you are cooking for a large group. I had two extra Pyrex baking pans that sure came in handy as there wasn't enough room with the pans in the cabin to cook for 8 people. Just a small detail that I didn't think of ahead of time, so just a heads up. Overall, the cabin experience was great with the views, space to venture around the cabin, AC, good showers and beds, plenty of space to cook, a dishwasher, coffee maker, washer and dryer, and we were secluded which was so nice and peaceful, except for a few cow moos here and there.

Perfect getaway but bring drinking water
This is beautiful and secluded area to stay. 5 of us stayed here for 3 nights. Mark and Ariana are super welcoming, responsive with messages, and checked in on us during our stay. The cabin itself is modern, clean, and charming. The porch and firepit were cozy spots to relax and enjoy the surrounding nature. The nearest grocery store chain was about a 30 minute drive from the cabin so remember to stock up on necessities. Their cabin had minimal supplies which included salt, pepper, 4 other seasonings, and sugar. Drinking water from the tap was not advised by them. We had to travel back to the grocery store to buy gallons of water, cooking oil, and other necessities. The cabin is about 1 hour from the South entrance of Yosemite which made for a nice day excursion. Overall, it was a great and cozy spot to relax and would happily visit again. Thank you both for your hospitality!

Perfect for quiet and seclusion, not the best base camp for Yosemite trips, dogs need kennels.
This place is perfect if you want to just stay somewhere quiet and secluded. We stayed for 8 days. Unfortunately, our plans were to go to Yosemite and then rest every other day. It took 2 hours to drive from here to Yosemite Valley (4 hours back and forth for 4 days turned out to be too much driving). Nearest big grocery stores were about 25 mins away (there is a small general store nearby that we never went to because we got groceries on our way back from Yosemite Valley). Also note if you bring your dogs with you, they need to be in a secure kennel if you plan to leave them in the cabin unattended, otherwise you'd be breaking the rental agreement, something we overlooked. We won't stay here again with our dogs, but would definitely come back just with family and friends. Appreciate the easy communication with Mark.
