"Everything was great, the glass igloo, the food in the restaurant, and the staff!!! We mentioned that we had to leave early for our flight and will not be able to eat breakfast. When we came back to our igloo after a long day full of adventures we were pleasantly surprised to find a bag with sandwiches, fruit, juice and protein bars left for us! An outstanding customer service! Thank you for your hospitality ♥️"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Raudanjoki?
The best area to stay in Raudanjoki is the central village area, particularly around the Raudanjoki River, where many of the main accommodations are situated.

This central area offers convenient access to the village's amenities and the natural beauty of the surrounding Lapland landscape. You'll find a selection of local eateries and shops here, and it serves as a good base for exploring the wider region. The river itself is often a focal point for activities, particularly during the warmer months.

Couples looking for a peaceful escape will find the accommodations along the river particularly appealing. Many offer private cabins or suites with views of the water or forest, providing a secluded setting for a romantic trip. The easy access to nature walks and opportunities for quiet reflection make it an ideal choice.

Families travelling with children will also appreciate the convenience of staying in the central village. Many of the accommodations are designed with families in mind, often featuring more spacious living areas or multiple bedrooms.
When is the best time to go to Raudanjoki?
The best time to go to Raudanjoki is during the winter months, specifically from December to March, for snow-based activities and the Northern Lights, or during the summer, from June to August, for the midnight sun and outdoor adventures.

For those seeking a classic Lapland experience, the winter offers a magical landscape covered in snow. This period is ideal for activities like husky sledding, reindeer safaris, and snowmobiling. The short daylight hours increase your chances of seeing the Northern Lights, especially on clear nights between 9 PM and 2 AM. Accommodation during these months often includes cosy cabins with fireplaces, providing a comfortable retreat after a day in the cold.

Couples looking for a romantic and adventurous getaway will particularly enjoy the winter. Imagine snuggling up in a glass igloo, watching the Northern Lights dance above you, or taking a peaceful sleigh ride through a snow-laden forest. Many resorts offer special packages that include these great experiences.

The summer months provide a completely different but equally appealing experience, with the midnight sun bathing the landscape in continuous daylight. This is great for those who want to explore the Arctic wilderness through hiking, fishing, or canoeing without the chill of winter. The forests and fells are lush, and the rivers are ideal for water-based activities.

Families might find the summer a great time to visit. The endless daylight allows for longer days of exploration, and there are plenty of gentle trails for children to enjoy. Activities like berry picking, visiting local farms, and enjoying boat trips on the Raudanjoki River are popular choices.
