The location of the property was fantastic, a easy walk into town center. A bus stop right outside gave access to all parts of the island. A convenience store out front held essential supplies including prepared meals.

nice stay in Rarotonga
I’m a previous visitor to the Cook Islands, this was a quick holiday to escape months of long work weeks! The inn was near Avarua but not in town, only a short walk, some good restaurants close by and a shop next door. It’s not a full service high end resort, more of a beach bungalow to use as a base to explore Raro. Beach is narrow and reef very close in this part of the island but you’ll have it to yourself. If you want multiple beach bars and wide open lagoons to swim in you won’t find it here but I just wanted a nice inexpensive place near town., With my hired scooter I could easily get anywhere on the island in 30-40 min. Its a pretty drive anyway! The room was basic but clean and everything worked, no aircon but didn’t need it. No kitchen but small fridge, sink and microwave. It had an upper loft and hot water that took a couple minutes but worked . The hotel has a nice back deck and open bar area but under renovation during my stay. I had seen some reviews about staff not being around or not helpful but I certainly did not get that impression, the owners very helpful. My only issue was that I think it could be quite noisy if rooms were all occupied, but. I also had a middle room. it was off season during my visit and only a few guests but one night it was quite loud quite late but that was the only time. Otherwise I was happy with my visit, at the price I wished to pay. Getting around the island is very easy so I had no need for a pricey ‘resort’ further away.

This is basic accommodation. We had a clean comfortable room. The place is old but met all our simple needs. The location is a short walk to town. The bus stops outside the Inn and is an easy way to travel the whole island. A big shout out to the manager Chantelle who made every step of our trip simple and pleasant.

A very dated old motel that's been run into the ground. No Air Conditioning in a tropical climate makes it impossible to sleep on hot days. The common areas are bleak and run down. Didn't encounter a single staff member in my one-night stay, so it was pretty much a self-service motel.

This dear old Hotel is a bit run down, but its positives far outweigh the negatives. The rooms are large, Beds are spotlessly clean and all sheets, pillowcases etc also spotless. The patio/deck outside is large, with several sunloungers, tables & chairs etc.. It has a nice kitchen/diner for cooking your own meals or for inviting friends/visitors for a meal. You can buy food and wine or beers from the shop next door from 6am to 10 pm. There is a microwave and jug in your room and the rooms 1 to 7 are the larger of this 14 bed hotel. Its cheap and cheerful but has and offers all you are likely to need. Bus at the door. 5 -7 mins walk to Avarua town centre and 4-5 mins from Trader Jacks bar & Restaurant, Vibe cafe also near for breakfast, dinner or tea. Other restaurants, bars and niteclubs close too. I would be happy to stay here again.

It was the worst. Mould in fridge doors stained chairs no hot water for 4 out of 6 days kettle broken toaster didn’t work asked to move as I complained too much pets in and out of your rooom house Jeep was only done 2 days blankets removed lied too noted left in my door twice all I asked for was hot water and told why it’s hot over here you don’t need hot water. Blamed for the manager going to hospital and asked to buy smokes from duty free not just us but everyone in the entire hotel Yep some 50th surprise no people skills she just keep blaming the house keeping staff for everything. Hot water issue I was told that they didn’t run on our system so how was she surposed to know . I was dumbfounded. Then told by letter that we can move I said I never asked to move I just asked for the basic stuff that worked and a extra blanket so they took that away and we had to sleep in our clothes to scare to say anything to them even on our last day no towels to dry ourselves with bed was not made rubbish not collected horrible time. We save for two years for that and we have a disabiled child that cost us 3 k to have her looked after while we relived our honey moon. Was not expecting that level of service at all shocked disappointed and embraced and a waste of our money.

3 star rating too high
booked this last minute for 1 night, so didn't have much choice, thought 3 star was too high. we arrived 1.30am so we were given instructions on how to find our room. after being dropped at the gate we had to wheel our suitcases across gravel to the entrance. outside area was very dowdy and paths needed cleaning. Room very clean and bed comfortable, but handle on kitchen tap came off in hand and we were only left 1 bath towel and when showering it was more like standing under a tap as the shower head was broken and held together with cellotape. Also there was a loose stair tread on the spiral staircase that went up to the loft bed. I would not stay there again.

Budget hotel, handy to town
This hotel is well past its use by date, reflected in the pricing. My room had a cute spiral staircase up to a mezzanine floor, with a very comfortable huge bed. Suits single very quiet travellers, as the wall are not very sound proof. The bar is no longer active, but is a comfy alternative to sit and read, as is the balcony overlooking the sea. If you don,t have high expectation, it has everything you need.

It is not Paradise
We booked Paradise Inn as it is near airport but actually the taxi driver charged us @30 which is nearly same as taxi to go to Muri Beach (a part of that maybe was our fault as we did not know we were overcharged). No body there when we arrived, our name and room number was stated on whiteboard and during 2 days we stayed there we saw the cleaner only one time but reception room always closed. There is no phone in the room and you can not use the phone hang on the wall in front of reception either as they state it is for emergency call only. The shower is not hot enough and water changed hot to cold then hot again when you are in shower. The wall is too thin so we can hear TV and people talking loudly from both sides. Our TV has only one Channel and we though that it is the same every where but some time we had to watch Kids channel when we heard people in the next room was watching news.

Great location
The hotel runs on minimum staff and guests check themselves in. Fantastic location - close to where we wanted to be and walking distance to the town centre. The hotel also on the beach but you don't have the view from your room. You have to go down the back and there is ready access to the beach. There is also one upstairs unit which has views. The place is perfect for the location but not if you want to sleep. The facility being built on a narrow block is flanked by close neighbours and children have a habit of playing nearby when you want to rest. Also, worst of all is the plumbing noise (water pressure building) that can go on for hours, especially if guests check in late (after midnight) and take a shower. We probably received the brunt of the noise as our unit near the front - perhaps the rear units were quieter. This hotel does not pick up from the airport so if you catch a taxi it's $15 each person regardless of the distance.

We checked out after 2 days
To be honest for the price the accomodation was ok but the pictures make it look way better than it was. The people living next door practiced their drumming from dusk to dawn. Not the relaxing start we were looking for on our holiday so we moved to a different hotel after 2 days. It was cold and rained whilst we were there and the room was cold at night and felt damp due to the fact that windows were permanently open and that there was a broken pipe in the roof (this was fixed) Staff were very friendly but whole Place is very dated and in need of a lot of tlc.

I arrived after the closing hours for check in, but a message was left instructing which room and key access. I originally booked a single room since I was on my own, but they kindly up graded my room to a deluxe, which was great! It had everything I needed ie hot water, cooking facilities and a comfortable bed. I would definitely recommend Paradise Inn to anyone thats looking for a cheap and cheerful spot!

Paradise Motel
Accommodation best suited to back-packers on a budget. Not suitable for children or elderly. Very basic accommodation - hardly Boutique. Noise from other rooms easily heard through walls, including toileting sounds. Beach at front of motel not really suitable for swimming. Septic tanks appear to discharge into the lagoon. Motel is under airport flight path. Especially annoying late at night.

Nice hotel in front of the beach
Staff was very friendly and helpful. I was arriving on a Sunday and was worried because the reception was closed but they were well organised and I did not need to worry. I chose the loft and it was comfortable and spacious. If you like to hear the sound of the waves and you do not mind the heat (there is a fan in the room), then this would be a great choice. You can walk along the beach and walk to town.

It's close to everything, we didn't have an issue with the staff who were very helpful, our cleaner (forget the name) always had a smile on, the beach was literally right in front of our room. The only let down was no air conditioning, it was hot so the fan in the room didn't do much, but we enjoyed every second of our stay. Excited to come back some day.
