Quiet home on horse farm, halfway between Paducah & Wickliffe. Close to 60 & 286
Built originally in the 40s by my father-in-law for his new bride, this home raised my husband and his four siblings. The property has been owned by this family since the 1880s. It was a general farm, then a dedicated dairy farm until the early 1990s. When the dairy operation sold out, we bought the home place and some surrounding acreage. My daughter and her husband now live down near the barns and manage it as an equine facility. We live a few miles away. The Redhouse is between Highways 60 and 286, easily gotten to from highway 2532(County Line Rd), which connects the two state highways. The house has a Ring camera at the front door now. No cameras inside.

The Red House is a peaceful place in the country. It is the cleanest, neatest and most thoughtfully furnished vrbo house I have stayed in! I look forward to staying there again! Thank you Jane!
Second time staying. Still have all positives to say! Wonderfully quiet place for a get away weekend. Well stocked kitchen and items in refrigerator to use for making breakfast included. Details have been thought about for guests. Host is very responsive!
This was our second time staying at this property while home to visit family nearby in Paducah. Wonderful location in the country and such lovey home. Highly recommend this property!
We have been staying there for years. Always been a great place, great host and just an awesome place to relax and get back to nature. We will be back.
My family loved staying here. It was quaint, quiet, well-stocked with all the necessities.
Jane was very communicative and we would love to stay there again with her. Being next to the horse farms gives the place a real charm.
Another lovely stay at this property while visiting family in Paducah. Very remote, quiet, surrounded by farmland. Fine for our purposes as we only needed a place to sleep. Clean, neat, comfy. Very happy rooster next door was a treat for us city folk to hear each morning. Many thanks for farm fresh eggs.
The Red House is in a quiet area and was well stocked with any and everything you might need. The host even provided fresh eggs and muffins for breakfast!!! If we are ever back in the area we will stay here again.
Peace and quiet abound at this place. Lots of room outside to enjoy and charm inside. Mattress was very comfortable sleeping and kitchen well stocked for cooking, something we wanted to do. Nice that breakfast options provided.
Absolutely loved this rental! From the moment we walked in we felt at home. All the beds were very comfy and the entire home was very clean. The kitchen had everything we needed and more! We loved the setting and will most definitely be staying again.
The property was clean, quiet, comfortable with a well stocked kitchen and bath. Lots of room to roam outdoors, lots of parking and so private and serene. Just lovely!! Would definitely stay again when in the area!!
We loved our stay in this country location. It was quiet and peaceful yet close enough to Paducah for shopping and restaurants. The home was spotless, and every amenity was available - basic kitchen supplies (mixer, oil, sugar, spices, and much more), lots of towels and blankets and pillows, wifi and TV, washer and dryer, and more I'm probably not thinking of.It was very cold and snowy during our visit, so we made the home a cozy place to watch movies and relax. We even had our three small dogs with us, and there was lots of yard space to walk them.If you visit here, don't miss the National Quilt Museum. It's not your grandmother's quilt - it's amazing fabric art! Oh, and we found a vegan restaurant we liked: Branch Out.Definitely recommend staying here!!!
This is a great place to stay. We have been here several times and will certainly return. Nice quiet rural location with simple country charm. Very cozy. It's one of our favorite locations to visit.
This was a tranquil place to stay on a quiet country road. The surroundings were beautiful. We sad in the front and watched the horses play across the road. Definitely the highlight of our vacation.
I went to Metropolis Illinois for an ASA Archery tournament when I arrived at the property, I was pleasantly surprised to see how clean it was very nice home. I would definitely like to stay there again.
We really loved this place. The house is beautiful and so cozy. It was very clean and had everything we needed already there. We will definitely stay here again next time we come to visit our family in Mayfield.
