It's within walking distance to everything. It was well stocked for cooking and had all the amenities we needed for our 8 night stay. The only negative thing I have to say is that the couch is not comfortable at all and the cushions fall off whenever you try to sit on it. Overall, the experience was very positive and I would stay here again. The area is very walkable--in fact, the only time we took public transportation was the #800 bus to Montmorency Falls. Lots of hills and stairs, including a flight of stairs down to the studio itself, but a short walk to Petit Champlain, full of shops and places for a snack or meal. The living area of the place looks directly out onto a pedestrian street so we kept the curtains closed, but we were out exploring all day. The parking recommendations were not helpful without better instruction. It was difficult to find this property on a rainy Saturday evening during the holidays (many pedestrians and closed roads) and better instructions on how to unload our belongings prior to parking in the nearby lot would have been helpful. The good: It’s in a quiet area and the bedroom is very dark, so easy to get a good sleep. Great shower, kitchen amenities, and a solid living area. The place was quite clean and spacious. The so-so: Instead of a duvet cover, the duvet was sandwiched between two top-sheets so it was difficult to keep it covered. In winter, the baseboard heating struggled to get above 20-21c. The apartment is located in Old Québec near a few cute/quaint streets, however it’s located at the bottom of a very steep hill that must be climbed if you want to go anywhere on foot (including other parts of old Québec). There is a funicular that can cut out some of the climb if you’re willing to wait. A good location but would be mindful of the stairs. The bad: The apartment is at street level in a decently well-trafficked area. There are privacy shades, but they do not fully cover the windows and people using the door adjacent to the window can easily see in. Also, considering the winter conditions in Quebec, the apartment could be better outfitted for coming and going. It’s difficult not to track in snow and slush. A bench to take shoes off and a coat rack would go a long way. Finally, the TV is basically unusable. Netflix is not compatible, screen mirroring doesn't work, and the cable package is limited to basic channels with no way to pay for additional ones during your stay. We planned to use both sleeping options but when it was late and we were tired and ready to sleep the pull out was dirty. There were multiple guy hairs, a live bug, rips in the sheets and black stuff maybe mascara who knows. I looked for a fresh set of sheets and there was no other options. I was not starting laundy that late for the price of the room. All the adults had to squish in one room. It made for a terribel sleep along with not feeling completely safe because the indoor lock system is useless. If you know the code the chain is long enough to unlock from the street. Not having a door locking system to feel secure made my adult daughter unavailable to sleep well, as she tried her best to get crafty with the chain with no success. The location is a dream but with the extremely long night we would not stay there again and had to retrack our recommendation to friends. Hopefully the locks get updated and people can enjoy the experience better than we did. You have a whole apartment to yourself, in the middle of old Quebec City. The only difficult part is that you can't really drive up to it during your check-in time -- you have to park nearby and walk your stuff in.
