"The cabins are clean and well maintained, the staff very friendly and helpful. Also, the view of the mountains is very nice. The reason I gave it only three stars is that the access to the property is very inconvenient: from the main road, go down a narrow dirt road, through a patch of weeds, over a ditch and up some make-shift stairs. This should be mentioned in the description of the property. Instead, it was an unpleasant surprise."

"Alila Seminyak is truly next-level. From the moment we arrived until the moment we checked out, everything about this hotel felt five-star. After getting off a long flight and arriving in Bali’s hot and humid climate, we were welcomed with a complimentary box containing snacks and drinks, along with a cool, refreshing towel and facial mist. It was such a thoughtful touch and immediately made us feel welcomed, refreshed and looked after. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, right on the waterfront with direct beach access and stunning infinity pools. We had booked a room with a private pool, which made our stay feel even more special. The entire property is beautifully maintained, and the location is fantastic. The restaurant was phenomenal, and the food and service were exceptional. The staff throughout the hotel were outstanding — friendly, attentive and always willing to help. Even the security team were fantastic and made us feel incredibly safe and well looked after. The little details really made the difference. We had a buggy available to take us to and from our room, and there genuinely didn’t seem to be anything we could ask for that was too much trouble. I honestly cannot fault this hotel. From the facilities and location to the food, service and attention to detail, Alila Seminyak delivered an exceptional experience from beginning to end. It is easily one of the best hotels we have stayed at, and I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending it."

"We recently stayed at Kayumas Seminyak Resort and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The resort is beautiful, peaceful and very well maintained, making it the perfect place to relax while still being close to everything Seminyak has to offer. The accommodation was spacious, clean and comfortable, and the pool and resort facilities were excellent. What really stood out for us, though, was the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and their genuine hospitality made us feel very well looked after. The location was also excellent, with easy access to the beach, restaurants, shops and everything else around Seminyak, while the resort itself remained quiet and relaxing. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Kayumas and made some wonderful memories during our stay. A big thank you to the entire team for making our Bali holiday so enjoyable. Alaya Resort Ubud

"This was our first time in Bali and Ubud, and Alaya was a great base for exploring. The location is very central, with lots of restaurants, cafés, shops and spas within easy walking distance. The hotel itself is clean, modern and set in beautiful, lush surroundings. It also isn’t a huge resort, which we liked, as it was quick and easy to get back to the room or head out again. The air conditioning in our room was strong and worked really well. The staff were consistently friendly, and the traffic manager at the front was particularly helpful with crossing the busy road and helping taxis get in and out. There were a few things that stopped it feeling truly five-star for us. Check-in was quite lengthy after a long day of travelling, and there was some early-morning noise from sweeping outside the room and the shower/plumbing. Housekeeping also came at around 8am on our first morning. We hadn’t put the bamboo privacy sign out, which was our oversight, but having only checked in the night before, a slightly later visit would have been appreciated. Breakfast was included and was okay, but portions were small and some basics, such as sugar for tea and coffee, were missing. There are lots of excellent cafés nearby, which we preferred. The gym is very small and limited, so we chose to train elsewhere in Ubud, which was easy to do. We didn’t use the pool or spa, so can’t comment on those. Overall, a beautiful, well-located hotel with lovely staff, but not quite five-star by Weste"
