VIU has a lovely concept and the person in charge was kind and responsive, which I appreciated. Still, my stay left a lot to be desired. The water heater didn’t work, the TV couldn’t be used because it didn’t have any apps installed, and there were no basic essentials like cooking oil, salt/pepper or drinking water. There was also an issue with ants, and at one point a dog wandered into the cabin (no issue with a per friendly place I just wasn’t expecting it). I was hoping to enjoy the cabin’s terrace, but construction at the cabin beside mine made it hard to relax or feel any sense of privacy. With more attention to detail and maintenance, this could be a really special place. For now, it feels more like a rustic Airbnb than a true boutique hotel.

Personally, I had an amazing week in Casa Playa Blanca. I was looking for the escape from reality in silence with the only my own company and the wild nature away from civilization, noisy parties, and people. I have got exactly what I wanted. The view from my room was breath taken and the staff was super nice and helpful, especially Wilber- the hotel host. I feel rejuvenated. It was very elegant, spiritual, and highly aesthetic recharge!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Monti-Villa. We’ve never gotten so much bang for our buck until we stayed here. If being too big of a place was an issue, it was kind of a nice to have that issue all to ourselves. Our hosts, Lucy, Rene, and Jose were all very nice and courteous. The ocean views were amazing, the landscaping was gorgeous, and the aesthetic of the place was very tasteful. If you’re the type to be scared of by a little bit of nature, such as lizards, spiders, raccoons, capybaras, or bees…. Visiting such a beautiful place might not be for you. Nature was here first and will most likely survive our species. Both pools were kept clean and are mostly at moderate height, so there should be no fear of drowning for sober adults. We came with two septuagenarians who both were able to navigate the steep stairway but the stairs are not for the meek. Overall, we were really pleased with the property and it was a big factor in us, enjoying our stay in El Salvador. If you plan to cook for yourself, be sure to stop at the Super Selecto in town.
