When we arrived at The Atlantico hotel we asked to see the room because the neighborhood and the hotel were very rundown and we had concerns. When we went to see the room, it was dirty, lived out, the bathroom light didn’t work and the mirror was falling apart. There was a bug on the bed and there were stains everywhere. We went back down immediately and told the receptionist that we didn’t want to stay. He said too bad, there’s nothing I can do, you have stepped into the room and we will charge you for 3 nights. We asked for a manager and he said there wasn’t one but would call. We waited 29 mins and no help. We told him again that the pictures did not at all reflect the conditions of the hotel. He said he couldn’t help. We asked why he would charge for 3 nights. He again said that's policy and because you stepped in the room. We were in the room for 10 mins looking only. We decided to leave and find a new hotel as it was getting late fast.

This is a nice little hotel outside the main hub-bub of Punta del Este. The staff are all SUPER friendly and were very accommodating for me and my family. The main beaches are a bit out of the way, but otherwise we had a very nice stay.

Great location, walkable area
The hotel is old but well maintained. The room we had was small but had a gorgeous view in two directions. The breakfast each day was a great start to the day. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. They are happy to practice their English language skills with U.S. tourists like us. This is an older part of Punta del Este, away from the high rise condo towers with more single family homes and small apartments. In the immediate vicinity of the hotel there are a couple sketchy, grafitti covered buildings, but overall the area is quite well kept and safe. Many restaurants and bars are easily walkable from the hotel.

This hotel was amazing. The staff was so helpful and the location was perfect. The rooms were a little small but since we didn’t spend much time in the room, that didn’t matter much. Would definitely stay here again!

Great location and friendly, helpful staff
Atlantico Hotel is set back a couple of blocks from the Marina/port but all the better for it (don't confuse it with the upstart waterfront restaurant of the same name). Being back means you are very close to many restaurants and bars but not stuck with the noise. Close to all the sights on the peninsula and walkable into wider Punta del Este. The hotel is clean and stylish, the pool area is quiet and pretty. There isn't a restaurant but staff are helpful and happy for you to bring some things from outside with you. The reception team also provide a really comprehensive guide to restaurants and sights in the area, which is appreciated. The effort shows. Note that car parking is limited and a bit of a squeeze but it is usually possible to find somewhere to park on the street nearby. Only docked a point overall because our room occasionally had a slight chemical smell to it but this aired out fine. Overall, definitely recommended and one of our best stays in Uruguay!

This is a boutique hotel and for the price it was a nice surprise (Punta del Este tends to be overpriced). You should not expect luxury, but I found a nice room with partial ocean view and a comfy bed, good breakfast and a fantastic secluded patio with a pool and a tikki bar. It is very close to the port and the main street of Punta so it's very convenient for shopping and dinning. You can't walk to the beach but you are just a short uber away to both the brava and the mansa beaches. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again.

perfect vacation
Absolutely perfect location at the tip of Punta, 3 minutes walk to the marina where one can see plenty of sea lions, 1 minute walk to the lighthouse, Atlantic on both sides, plenty of very good restaurants. Simple but very clean hotel with good breakfast. We had a delightful stay.

The hotel is OK, good location and staff very friendly. The mattress in our room was not good, actually in bad shape. Breakfast was also OK. I was expecting a little more of the hotel. Parking is not closed and often we have to leave the car on the street.

Really Enjoyed my Stay
I had a great experience at the Atlántico Boutique Hotel, so much so that I extended my visit. My check in was flawless. I was warmly greeted by Marcos who spoke excellent English and promptly and professionally checked me in. He also provided me with a thorough briefing on the hotel and the area. The hotel is spotless and located in a beautiful quiet residential neighborhood in the peninsula but it still close to all the services you need as well as some fine restaurants. I also received great service and information from Franco L., another team member who spoke perfect English and was a treasure trove of information. All front desk team members were great but those two stood out. The wifi signal was strong, breakfast was typical continental fare which included scrambled eggs. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will return to this little gem on the peninsula.

We really enjoyed our visit to Atlantico. The reception staff were very helpful, friendly and spoke English. We like the location away from the downtown but close to the beaches and great restaurants. The morning breakfast was delicious and the pool was a bonus!

What a gem!
Such a wonderful hotel right near beaches and el Centro. Was very relaxing and inviting. We especially enjoyed our night in the superior suite. Will definitely stay here again and highly recommend it! Truly a gem!
