Terrible Ownership/Customer Service Experience-Will Never Be Back!
Everything up through check in went smoothly. When we checked in it appeared clean and nice. Came back to unit on 1st night after dinner and those who planned to sleep in back 2 beds discovered small bugs in sheets of both after pulling back bedding to get in. Right away we could tell they weren't bedbugs which was a relief, but still upsetting and no one wants to sleep in bed with any type of bugs. 5 of 8 in the group slept outside in their vehicles 1st night as they were not comfortable sleeping there. Front bed did not have bugs in it and I fortunately had air mattress brought to sleep on. Manager was notified first thing in a.m. by member of group who slept in vehicle night before and asked what was going to be done to resolve situation. Pics and videos sent of bugs in sheets. Manager called Owner who we were told was vacationing in Petoskey. Initially all that was offered was Manager to drive out to swap out current sheets on the bed for spare sheets kept in closets. With more push back on our part, the Manager called back saying owner agreed to give us our $150 cleaning fee back. We then said some cost of 1st night should be given back for those that couldn't even sleep in unit. Owner gave us option to either evacuate and checkout day early by 12 and he'd have exterminator come and reimburse, or stay in unit as is without manager coming out. We ended up spending time on our vacation being inconvenienced washing their bedding and treated like we were an inconvenience!
