The condo was beautiful. Had a couple minor issues upon arrival that were resolved immediately. Communications with the owner and housekeeping were excellent. Kitchen was well stocked and organized. They have a glass water wall that is beautifully backlit at night. I would definitely stay here again.

Amazing setting

We spent four days at this property in early February and loved our time. We saw whales throughout the day while sitting on the lanai, the unit is spacious and clean, and the host was readily available. This was a great property and we would definitely stay again.

Week at Puu Poa

It was a beautifully furnished condo. We especially enjoyed the atrium room with the windows that folded wide open—spectacular view of the ocean. Fun to watch the surfers and spot all the whale spouts—even a couple of breeches.

We traveled with our 22 year old son and his girlfriend. This location is perfect! Close walk to the beach. Cocktails either on your outdoor space or at the 1 Hotel for sunset. We were lucky enough to have whales breaching almost every day and perfect rainbows almost every morning. Loved our week away!

Whales rainbows and sunsets

This condo was fabulous. Every morning we saw whales and spinner dolphins. With Kauais penchant for rain we witnessed many rainbows. The sunsets were magnificent. The condo was spacious and nicely appointed. I would come back again!

Paradise in Puu Poa

We’ve stayed at Puu Poa every time we visit Kauai because we love the location. The ocean views are spectacular, Hideaways Beach is right below the complex and it’s next to 1 Hotel (formerly St. Regis) and Hanalei Bay. The units themselves though can be a bit outdated and some don’t have A/C. NOT the case with this Unit. The owners completely renovated it with lovely high end finishes. The lanai was converted into an enclosed sitting area with huge windows overlooking the ocean that opened up to allow in ocean breezes. They had plenty of fins available which saved us renting since we had brought our own masks/snorkel. The terrace was perfect with a Weber bbq. Unfortunately the dishwasher was broken prior to our arrival so we had to wash our own dishes. It was a concern since we had other family staying on the island and we hosted some dinners. The owner did address our concerns though and tried to make it right.

Location, location, location!!!

The location of this property cannot be beat, as it's situated on a bluff in beautiful Princeville -- a gorgeous, safe, walkable neighborhood on the North Shore -- within a short jaunt down to the beach and the 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay. It is priceless having that high-caliber, luxury hotel so close, as it's easy to walk to for drinks, dinner, or watch the sunset.The property itself was just as described, though it is definitely dated and needs a good refresh. The rugs were tattered and some of the furniture needs either re-upholstering or replacing. The beds were comfortable, though we needed extra sheets and blankets, which were locked away and not accessible. The jalousie window in the primary bedroom was broken and could not be closed, which allowed for the humidity to soak into the condo. The property manager said she would have the owner look in to fixing it. We just covered it with pillows as best we could. There were beach chairs, which were nice to have, but they are old and flimsy and could use replacing. It's a nice layout and the views are incredible. Easy to park right in front of the building. Overall, it's a very nice property with great potential to be incredible with a refresh.

Overall (3 stars) - Location was fantastic overlooking ocean (5 stars) - Construction noise weekdays 8a-3p/4p (0 stars) - Communication was timely when I had questions during the stay, but no advance notice of construction while booking (3 stars) - Property: furniture/decor is dated, unit has good A/C, good wifi, lacking privacy since unit above can look down into living space outside primary bedroom and primary bedroom has vertical blind door/wall separating it from living space (3 stars) Details for the above. Location (5 stars) - The property location is amazing and A/C was needed since it was warm during our stay. View of the ocean is breathtaking. Walking distance to dining at 1 Hotel (expensive but good) and hideaway beach (short physical hike down the cliff). Construction Noise (0 stars) - 6 units were undergoing renovation so construction noise started at 8a every weekday and went until the afternoon (3p-4p). We planned to sleep in and relax at the condo/pool but this was not possible with the saws and jack hammers in use daily. If you plan to be out before 8a every day, this will not impact you. Communication (2 stars) - Richard communicated clearly and quickly when I messaged during the stay (5 stars). When I enquired about construction noise, he knew of some construction and recommended we plan activities away from the unit during the weekday (0 stars since recommendation wasn't our plan and construction he was aware of wasn't communicated during booking).
