Mediocre, very rough around the edges and parking is unclear. The minibar was full of mould, including on the bottles! (See photo). There are lots of nicer hotels available in the same price range.

Convenient hotel in a nice safe neighborhood. Lovely and attentive breakfast and excellent coffee. Friendly front desk. Close to Vysehrad castle, so relaxing with great views of Prague, 10 minuites walk to metro or bus 134 to the tram one block. Vysehrad Hotel does the job. Beds are comfortable.

Really, really average
The hotel consists of a two buildings, the main one with the lobby which is older and a building in the back which has another set of rooms and a new elevator. We were in the new building as we were a party of three. Our room was clearly designed for disabled/handicapped guests (low mirrors, large bathroom/shower with bars everywhere). I guess it was the only room which could accommodate three guests. The cleanliness was barely passable. Even drinking glasses were sometimes not changed. The bed covers had stains on them. No air-conditioning, only a noisy fan which made us use earplugs and keep the windows open throughout the night. The bathroom/shower was a mess. Although clean, the first person taking a shower would flood the whole bathroom because of uneven floor, and imagine how pleasant it would be for the next person. Also, the WiFi was practically non-existent. They had couple of routers throughout the whole establishment and the only one strong enough to serve us was not functioning. The only solution was to sit in the lobby.

Nice quiet hotel
A nice quiet stay. I found it difficult to find parking. Very close to the subway system. A pizzeria within 2-3 minutes of walking.

Nice hotel some way from the centre
I love this hotel; I have been coming here ever since it opened in 1995. It is away from the main centre which will not satisfy everybody but that is what I like about it, and it is very convenient for the Vysehrad fortress and the walk to Vysehrad metro station is quite agreeable.

Dependable, Clean, Friendly -- Every Time.
This is a nice, clean, friendly hotel. Every time I've stayed it's been clean and the entire staff has been very friendly and helpful. Be advised, this is not a big brand hotel. It's more like a little mom & pop shop. If you're expecting the Ritz, you'll be disappointed. If you're looking for a cozy (and small) clean and affordable place with great people and great service that's close to public transport, you'll be happy. Also, from speaking with friends, who've been staying elswhere, this breakfast is better than others in the area. It's usually Eggs, Veggies, Cereals, Yogurts, Fruits, Meats, Cheeses & Breads.

Good place for the price
I needed somewhere near the conference hall and found this one with reasonable distance and reasonable rates. When we checked in, the person helping us was not very nice or friendly. The bags were very difficult to fit in the tiny elevator--one person at a time probably should have gone, with half the luggage. The room was good, though--comfortable beds, big mirror, and places to put the luggage. The bathroom was nice and clean. The curtain needed washing, though, in the shower/tub. Lots of good counter space to keep your things. The tub wall was so high that it was a bit of a hazard when getting out after a shower. The furniture was older but functional, and there were several sites for outlets. The adapters only fit in the ones that were not in the bathroom, so I couldn't put in my nightlight. Breakfast was really nice--good variety, tasty food, fresh pastries. Free wifi was good, but spotty and not exactly speedy. The area was a bit dull compared to the gorgeous downtown areas, but we took advantage of being in Vysehrad and went to the castle and basilica, both of which were rather lovely. I would never have gotten to see the gravesites of famous Czech composers, artists, and university professors if we weren't staying in this area, and it was really lovely in the castle complex. Worth a stay.

Was not expecting much from this hotel, but was very pleasantly surprised. It was clean and comfortable, with a nice breakfast included - all for a very reasonable price! The location was not really within walking distance from the old town, but not too far from a metro stop.

Convenient metro from main train station to Vysehrad (save $$ avoid taxi). Friendly staff, includes bfast and Internet and air conditioning. Metro runsuntil after midnight so you can see all the sites. We spent 2 nights - could have added one more. Handy corner store right on the block,

Prague 2 night solo stay. Great value.
2 night stay in Prague. 10 minute walk from metro station on the south east side of the Vltava river. 3 stops to Wenceslas square. Comfortable room. Limited toiletry selection so being shampoo. Free wifi and breakfast make this a great value. Clean room. Arrived 1 hr before check in time and the staff allowed access to a room. Would stay again.

Stylish hotel in a quiet area of Prague
I have stayed here several times since 1996. It is quite a small hotel, very clean, comfortable and stylish. The Vysehrad fortress is within walking distance but to get to the other central areas of Prague quickly you need the metro (there are two stations nearby) or tram. This suits me and as the hotel is in a quiet area and I would definitely recommend it.

This hotel is perfect for attending the Conference centre. I found a laundry just in the next street. This hotel does not provide a restaurant for lunch or dinner. The quality of restaurants around the area was poor. The bed was not very comfortable for me, but the staff at the hotel were wonderful. Very clean room.

Adequate for the price
The staff was very helpful and accommodating. I thought the breakfast buffet was very good, with quite a variety of foods to choose from. It was better than the continental breakfast at most hotels I've stayed at. The neighborhood was quiet, away from city center and a perfect location for my needs. As a single female, I felt safe walking in the neighborhood after dark. Internet was good. The metro was not that far. As far as the room, I stayed in a double room and I would equate the accommodations to a 2.5-star in the US. I think as long as you go in with those expectations and not US 4-star expectations, you won't be disappointed.

Boutique hotel for the international traveler
Great little boutique hotel set in the heart of Vysehrad and only 3 blocks to the Prague Convention Center. Little convenience shops, drug store, gas station, coffee shops, and local cafes are all within a short walking distance. If you want to take the tram the Vysehrad station is at the Convention Center, making it easy to get downtown. And, the local hotel staff can accommodate international travelers due to speaking English, German, and Czech, as well as a few other languages. Nice private bathrooms, soft beds and comforters made this a lovely stay.

The whole Hotel is a remnant of the communist era. Linen changed sporadically 2-3 times in 9 days. House service not providing daily toilette paper( I had to ask once at 11 o'clock at night),small soaps, water glasses. Breakfast very basic and low quality. I think for the money is not worth it. Good location close to conference is its main advantage

We basically had the whole hotel to ourselves. The only "complaint" is that the computerized wake up call came at each morning 6:50 am. . . we forgot to tell the front desk. Breakfast was pretty good and the walk from the metro stop (TESCO) was easy using directions from their webpage. Funky furnishings and museum like artwork. Would recommend for budget travelers, but there are many other places I'd send friends first.

stayed in august 2011. nice characterful hotel just 5mins walk to conference centre / metro. Friendly and helpful. nice buffet breakfast, small but cheap bar. good sized rooms. much better than the expensive holiday inn! would recommend to anyone staying for a conference.

Last time I stayed at this hotel was 6 years ago. Hotel has not changed or improved since. The single rooms are small, I knew that before. No English or German TV stations. Very small screen. Breakfast is marginal, coffee is cold. Waitress/maid and front-desk day staff are unfriendly. Night watch staff is surprisingly friendly. What used to be a decent restaurant is now closed (due to low season, I assume). Wish I had spend more money on a different hotel. Very disappointing. Never deserves the 4-star rating. Only pro: Free WiFi!

Never more this so called hotel.
First of all this hotel can not be a 4 star hotel. I would rather rate it a 2 star hotel. Beds are horrible, to wooden frame singel beds put together. Cleaning you can forget about. Our room when we enthered was not vacum cleaned for weeks. All corners between wall and floor grey and sometimes black. First day after "cleaning" our bed looked like we went out from it 2 minutes before, no refill of toilett paper and no vacum cleaning. Towels that we left on the floor to be swapped was hanged back on the hanger and not changed. We had to instruct the reception that we want our room cleaned and how we wanted it cleaned. But off course we had to wait to next day. A little better cleaning next day but anyway poor cleaning. Toiletts in restaurant area and reception area was cleaned only once in the week (on friday) and if the toilett paper was finished, then you have to wait to next friday!!!! Breakfast not so good, fresh bread only every second day. in all breakfast was quite poor. The hotel claims in the add that they have air condition - Thats a joke, only same air turning around from the room and back into the room. If there is a cooling unit on the roof its shut of permanently. The central air unit in the celler is shut of permanently... the reception personal let me in to check the system and it was totaly dead. So in the central rooms and stairways there is no changed air at all. We really do not!!! recomend this hotel to any other people. When you come back to the hotel in the evening you are not even adressed, good evening or anything. The people who work in this hotel should be sendt to a smile course to learn how to treat clients.

Great Hotel, Noisy Street
This was a very nice hotel. The staff was friendly, polite, and spoke pretty good English. The place was immaculately clean. The free breakfast was very good with coffee, tea, several juices, scrambled eggs, meats, cheese, yogurt, fruit, bread and toast, cereal and all you could eat. The hotel is about 2 blocks from the subway which is only a few stops from the downtown main square. The only downside of the place is the street noise. It is located in a very quiet neighborhood (nothing ever seemed to be going on) but the street is very busy and the noise penetrates even the closed wndows of the room. If you need the windows open for cool night air, forget about sleeping. If you are a light sleeper, the noise even with the windows shut will keep you up. Other than the noise the place is excellent.

Poor Response to Unforeseen Events
I stayed in Vseyhrad Hotel for 7 nights since I had to attend a convention in the Congress Centre. Location-wise, it is a 10 minute walk to the convention site. The room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was alright. However, on our 6th night, after several hours of walking in the Old Town, we went home at 12 midnight and was totally DISAPPONTED since our keycard to our room failed us. The receptionist said he has a MASTER key card for all the rooms BUT that too, failed. So, for obvious reasons, he transferred us to a room adjacent to our previous room. BUT all our luggages were inside our old room! Imagine this, we asked if they could provide a TOOTBRUSH for us, but of course they didn't have that. The next morning, I asked the NEW receptionist, if the repairman will fix the door knob. He said in 40 minutes. So, my husband and I ate breakfast. But after 40 mins, the repairman was nowhere in sight!! We waited for a total of 3 freaking hours. Thats quite a torture since our most important documents were inside that room! No reassurance came from the part of the hotel. To close this, I can say that their response to unforeseen events like this was really, really POOR and FRUSTRATING.
