Amazing times as usual staff were nice waitress lady went above and beyond I'm gluten free

Initially given room 11. Condition of the shower was below standard with black mould evident on the grout and silicon. Highlighted this with reception and showed photographs of issues. Given alternative room 30, even more black mould evident (photographs taken and shown to reception). Issue should have been resolved the next day but ignored by management. Faults partly due to no heated towel rail or heating in the bathroom causing condensation in the bathroom and also in the bedroom. Windows were in need of maintenance. The mattress was oversized for the bedframe. This is not the level of cleanliness expected from a 4 star AA & Scottish Tourist Board hotel. Regardless of the hotel advising of a future refurbishment we would still expect a much higher level of cleanliness and comfort. We would also expect these issues to be addressed the first night our stay. That said, the evening meal was very good.

After visiting castles, it was like staying in one!

Staff are amazing and hotel very clean. Hot water poor and was misinformed on enquiry regarding it. Unfortunatley and do not blame this person as new to position but we were told no hot water for couple days. Spoke to another later and explained due to hotel being quiet and old piped needed to run sink and bath taps together until hot eventually comes through. Other wise 5 stars all the way and we will definitely be back
