"The property was close to the town centre, without being in the middle so was nice and quiet. The staff were extremely helpful and offered a kind and courteous service. Highly recommended"

"This is a very nice but basic hotel. Spotlessly clean. Cleaning and breakfast staff are excellent. The lady at the front desk(Maria?) seemed bothered when we asked for something. Everything seemed like an imposition on her. Otherwise, everyone else was fantastic. Good breakfast included and plenty of free parking. Easy 10 min walk to the centre of town and most sights. Rooms are a good size but the bathrooms were small and needed more hooks to hang towels. Overall, a great stay."

"Great location central to driving anywhere on the island. Extremely helpful desk staff. Very clean, good linens and nice pools. They could use hooks in the rooms for hanging damp and wet items after swims and hikes. They could separate smokers from non smokers as it was impossible to enjoy time on our balcony with ocean view most of the time when people next door were always out there smoking on theirs. Restaurant was ok. Thank you to the front desk staff for recommendations and taxi booking."

Terra Nostra Garden Hotel

"We booked a double room but were allocated a very small room with one of the smallest beds I’ve encountered in a hotel (see photo attached). The room did not appear to match the marketing photos, so it felt misleading to book one type of room and be given something quite different. After a poor night’s sleep, we complained and were moved to a larger room, which was much closer to what we had expected when booking. We also found the hotel restaurant disappointing, both at breakfast and dinner. However, we did enjoy the drinks and food in the bar area. The gym was another disappointment. It had only a couple of treadmills, dumbbells up to 10kg, and no bench to use them with, so it was very limited for a hotel at this price point. Overall, we did not feel the stay offered good value for money. While after-hours access to the gardens is a nice benefit, I would have preferred to stay elsewhere and visit the gardens during the day instead."

"We stayed one night in May 2026. We were welcomed warmly even though we arrived late at night due to a much delayed flight from Ponta Delgada. They upgraded us to a suite, which we were grateful for, after a long day of flying, and extended layovers in 4 airports, and getting lost while trying to find the hotel in the dark. The room was clean, and we enjoyed a peaceful night's rest and a standard complimentary breakfast the next morning."

"This was a nice hotel with an interesting history. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Unfortunately we were here in the transition from their winter to summer season & it was unusually warm weather. The room was stifling as the a/c couldn’t be turned on. They did try to help us but to no avail. We did appreciate the early check-in and the great breakfast."
